AetherEdge - Liquidity Sweep & Raid Detector
May 17, 2026

The AetherEdge - Liquidity Sweep & Raid Detector indicator identifies institutional stop hunts and liquidity pools by tracking liquidity sweeps and equal highs/lows in real time. It utilizes ATR-based significance filters and multiple confirmation modes to help traders visualize institutional footprints and potential reversal or continuation zones.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify key liquidity events. Traders can monitor "Stop Hunt" zones where institutional players often revisit before a significant move.
- Liquidity Sweeps: Use the "Sweep H" (High) or "Sweep L" (Low) labels to identify when price has breached a significant swing point only to reverse, suggesting a stop run.
- Equal Highs/Lows (EQH/EQL): These act as magnets for price. When the script marks an EQH or EQL, it highlights a liquidity pool where stop-loss orders are likely clustered.
- Zone Interaction: If "Fade on Touch" is enabled, stop hunt zones will change appearance as they are mitigated, signaling that the liquidity in that specific area has been processed.
- Trend Confirmation: Combine "Break of Structure" (BOS) markers with sweeps to identify structural shifts. A bullish sweep followed by a BOS to the upside often indicates trend ignition.
Details
The indicator implements core smart money concepts (SMC) via a complex pivot and array management system.
- Significance Filter: Instead of marking every swing, the tool uses an ATR-based multiplier. A pivot is only recorded if the price move leading to it is significant relative to current volatility, reducing market noise.
- Confirmation Logic:
- Wick Only: Triggers immediately when a wick breaks a pivot and returns. Best for scalping.
- Close Back: Wait for the price to close back within the original swing level within a set window of bars.
- Wick + Close Back: The most conservative mode, requiring both a significant wick extension and a confirmed close back inside the range.
- Memory Management: The script uses FIFO (First-In, First-Out) pruning for boxes, lines, and labels to ensure chart performance remains high while maintaining a sufficient history of institutional activity.
Settings
- Swing Lookback: Sets the number of bars required to the left and right to define a pivot high or low.
- Min Swing Size (x ATR): Filters out minor price fluctuations; only swings larger than this value are considered significant.
- Equal Tolerance: Defines how close two pivots must be to be classified as Equal Highs or Equal Lows.
- Sweep Confirmation: Selects the logic for detecting a sweep (Wick Only, Close Back, or Wick + Close Back).
- Max Bars for Close-Back: The time window (in bars) the price has to return inside the pivot level to confirm a sweep.
- Min Wick Size: Ensures the "grab" was deep enough to be considered a liquidity raid by measuring the wick against ATR.
- Zone Fade Mode: Determines if Stop Hunt zones stay on the chart, disappear, or change color when touched by price.
- Mark Break of Structure: Enables visual markers for when the price closes beyond the most recent unswept pivot.
FAQ
How do I adjust the indicator for high-volatility assets like Crypto?
For volatile assets, increase the Min Swing Size (x ATR) and Min Wick Size to filter out "fake" sweeps caused by standard volatility. Using the "Wick + Close Back" mode is also recommended for higher precision.
Why are some pivots not being detected as sweeps?
A pivot might not trigger a sweep if it doesn't meet the ATR significance threshold, if the wick was too shallow, or if the price did not close back within the Sweep Max Bars window.
