The Phicube EMASAR indicator identifies key support and resistance levels by visualizing multiple exponential moving averages (EMAs) through the lens of fractal alignment.

Usage

The tool displays several EMA levels on the chart, which change color based on the alignment of shorter-term moving averages relative to them. This allows traders to identify when a specific fractal level is acting as active support or resistance.

  • Support State: When the shorter-term EMAs are aligned above the target EMA, the line is colored to represent support (typically green).
  • Resistance State: When the shorter-term EMAs are aligned below the target EMA, the line is colored to represent resistance (typically red).
  • Neutral State: If the fractals are not clearly aligned in a trending sequence, the EMA is displayed in a neutral color.

Traders can use these shifting levels to time entries during pullbacks or to identify potential trend exhaustion when price interacts with the longer-term EMAs (such as the 305, 610, or 2584).

Details

This indicator is based on the Phicube concepts popularized by Bo Williams. While the original methodology often utilizes MIMAs, this specific implementation uses a sequence of Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) to calculate fractal alignment.

The indicator tracks specific periods: 17, 34, 72, 144, 305, 610, 1292, and 2584. The state of each EMA is determined by the positioning of two preceding EMAs in the sequence. For example, the EMA 72 is considered "Support" if the EMA 17 is greater than the EMA 34, and the EMA 34 is greater than the EMA 72.

Settings

The current version of the script plots a fixed set of EMAs with predefined logic. The following components are visualized:

  • EMA 17 to 2584: Eight distinct moving average levels plotted on the overlay.
  • Support Color: The color applied when the fractal alignment indicates a support level.
  • Resistance Color: The color applied when the fractal alignment indicates a resistance level.
  • Neutral Color: The color applied when no clear fractal alignment is detected.

FAQ

How do I use the different EMA lengths?

The shorter EMAs (17, 34) reflect short-term trend dynamics, while the longer EMAs (610, 1292, 2584) identify institutional-grade support and resistance levels on higher timeframes.

What do the colors signify?

Bright colors indicate that the fractals are aligned in a bullish (support) or bearish (resistance) sequence. Faded or neutral colors indicate that the specific fractal is not currently providing a clear trend signal.
