After the break it maps order blocks and inversion fair value gaps that oppose the break (bearish zones after a high break, bullish zones after a low break), with mitigation logic that clears each zone once price trades through it. It draws lines at the high and low of a defined [opening range](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/opening-range-and-orb/) (8:00 to 9:00 New York time by default), then waits for price to trade beyond either boundary. Once the range gives way, the tool maps the structures that oppose the break: bearish order blocks and bearish inversion fair value gaps after an upside break, their bullish mirrors after a downside one. ## How to Trade the 8AM 1H Range & Breaks? - **High break**: the first bar to trade above the session high marks the break; the highlighted Bearish Order Blocks and Bearish Inversion FVGs become the zones to watch if the break fails and price turns back down. - **Low break**: the first bar to trade below the session low marks the break, with Bullish Order Blocks and Bullish Inversion FVGs marking the zones to watch if price turns back up. - **Zone hygiene**: mitigation logic deletes each zone once price trades through its far edge (below a bullish zone's bottom, above a bearish zone's top), so the chart only shows zones price has not broken through. An inversion gap qualifies only when price trades back into a pending FVG and closes on its opposite side against the direction of the [breakout](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/breakout/); order blocks are engulfing patterns opposite to the break (bearish after a high break, bullish after a low break), projected forward a set number of bars. ## 8AM 1H Range & Breaks Settings - **Timezone** (default America/New_York): anchors the session clock. - **Session Time** (default 0800–0900): the window whose high and low define the range. - **Show IFVGs / Show Order Blocks**: toggle either zone type independently. - **Max Zones Displayed (per type)** (default 5): caps the active zones of each type to keep the chart readable. - **Zone Extension Bars**: how far each box projects into the future. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### Which timeframes does it suit best? The range is fixed by the 8:00–9:00 session, but the zones are built for lower-timeframe execution: one-, five-, and fifteen-minute charts are the natural habitat. Higher timeframes blur the intrabar structure the tool depends on. ### Can I trade inversion gaps without the range logic? Yes.
