Quadro Volume Profile
Sep 26, 2025

The Quadro Volume Profile indicator is a volume profiling tool that segments market activity into four distinct quadrants relative to the current price, allowing traders to visualize buying and selling pressure above and below the market. This tool provides a structured view of order flow by separating bullish and bearish volume distributions, helping to identify high-interest zones and potential support or resistance levels.
Usage
The tool is designed to provide immediate context on market internals by dividing volume into four categories:
- Upper Left (Upper Sell Quad): Displays bearish volume located above the current price.
- Upper Right (Upper Buy Quad): Displays bullish volume located above the current price.
- Lower Left (Lower Buy Quad): Displays bullish volume located below the current price.
- Lower Right (Lower Sell Quad): Displays bearish volume located below the current price.
Traders can use these quadrants to identify volume imbalances. For example, a heavy "Upper Sell Quad" relative to the "Upper Buy Quad" might suggest strong overhead resistance. Conversely, significant volume in the "Lower Buy Quad" can indicate a strong demand zone. The Point of Control (PoC) lines within each quadrant highlight the specific price level with the highest volume concentration, serving as precise points for entry or exit considerations.
Details
The indicator utilizes a lookback-based anchoring system to calculate volume distribution over a user-defined period. It segments price action into vertical "bins" and allocates the volume of each candle to the corresponding quadrant based on whether the candle was bullish or bearish and its position relative to the current price.
Key calculation components include:
- Four-Quadrant Distribution: Logic that separates buy and sell volume both above and below the midline.
- Dynamic PoC Detection: Calculates the highest volume node for each specific quadrant independently.
- Label Analytics: Real-time annotations provide the total volume and the percentage share each quadrant holds relative to the total activity within the lookback period.
Settings
- Calculation Period: Defines the number of historical bars used for the volume profile (max 500).
- Bins: Determines the vertical resolution of the volume histogram. Higher values provide more detailed distribution.
- Offset: Adjusts the horizontal placement of the profile on the chart.
- Quadrant Toggles (Upper Sell, Upper Buy, Lower Buy, Lower Sell): Allows users to enable or disable specific quadrants and their respective PoC lines.
- Color Settings: Customizable color inputs for bullish and bearish volume gradients.
FAQ
How do I interpret the percentage labels?
The labels represent the volume share of that specific quadrant relative to the total volume measured within the calculation period. This helps you quickly identify which quadrant is most dominant in the current market structure.
What do the dashed lines represent?
The dashed lines are the Point of Control (PoC) for each individual quadrant. They mark the price level where the most volume was traded within that specific segment (e.g., the price level with the most selling volume above current price).
How can I access the Quadro Volume Profile?
