The Combo Ichimoku + CDC Action Zone indicator integrates the Ichimoku Cloud with the CDC Action Zone system to provide a comprehensive trend-following tool that identifies momentum, support/resistance levels, and precise entry/exit zones.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify market trends and potential trade setups. The indicator synthesizes two distinct methodologies to filter noise and confirm signals.

  • Bullish Confirmation: A "Buy" signal is generated when the price closes in the green zone (defined by the CDC Action Zone) and is positioned above the Ichimoku Cloud (Senkou Span A and B). This indicates both positive momentum and a breakout above historical resistance.
  • Bearish Confirmation: A "Sell" signal is triggered when the price enters the red zone, indicating a shift in momentum and a potential trend reversal.
  • Color Zones: The script utilizes a multi-color bar-painting system. Green/Blue shades represent bullish momentum or recoveries, while Red/Orange/Yellow shades represent bearish momentum or corrective dips.
  • ATR Trailing Stop: A dual ATR-based trailing stop line (calculated from fast and slow periods) is included to assist with stop-loss placement and trend exhaustion identification.

Details

The script combines the following core components:

  • Ichimoku Cloud: Utilizes the Tenkan-sen (Conversion Line), Kijun-sen (Base Line), and the Senkou Span A/B to create the "Cloud." The cloud forecasts future support and resistance while defining the primary trend.
  • CDC Action Zone: Based on the work of Piriya333, this system uses the relationship between two Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). It categorizes market states into zones based on price proximity to the EMAs and the EMAs' crossover status.
  • ATR Trailing Stop: Implements a volatility-adjusted trailing stop. When the fast ATR period is above the slow ATR period, the line turns green, signaling a protected uptrend; otherwise, it turns red.
  • Multi-Timeframe (MTF) Mode: Users can lock the EMA calculations to a specific timeframe (e.g., Daily) regardless of the current chart resolution, allowing for higher-timeframe trend filtering.

FAQ

How do I interpret the different bar colors? The colors represent different phases of a trend based on the CDC Action Zone logic. Green is a standard bullish zone, Blue indicates a strong rally, Red is a standard bearish zone, and Orange/Yellow represent various stages of a dip or correction.

What is the difference between the "Green Dot" and the "Buy" signal? The Green Dot is a basic momentum signal from the CDC Action Zone, while the "Buy" signal requires additional confirmation from the Ichimoku Cloud, ensuring the price is also above the cloud.
