The Apex Signals & Overlays + Quant Rating indicator is a comprehensive technical analysis tool designed to identify high-probability trend reversals and continuation setups across various asset classes. This script integrates multi-factor trend analysis, momentum filtering, and automated market structure detection to provide actionable visual overlays for traders.

Usage

The script provides a holistic view of the market by combining several technical layers:

  • Signal Engine: Generates "BUY" and "SELL" labels based on a volatility-adjusted trend algorithm (Supertrend-based). It also includes contrarian reversal markers (triangles) that highlight potential exhaustion points using RSI and price action.
  • Trend Overlay: Features a dynamic EMA cloud and a smart trailing stop. When the fast EMA is above the slow EMA, the cloud and bars turn bullish (green); conversely, they turn bearish (red) when the fast EMA is below the slow EMA.
  • Target Projections: Automatically calculates and projects Take-Profit (TP1, TP2) and Stop-Loss (SL) levels upon signal generation based on ATR multiples, assisting in trade management.
  • Support & Resistance: Dynamically plots supply and demand zones based on recent pivot highs and lows, helping traders identify breakout or rejection levels.
  • Quant Rating Panel: A real-time dashboard that evaluates trend, momentum, MACD, ROC, and Volatility factors to assign a "Composite Rating" and a "Higher Timeframe (HTF) Bias."

Details

The indicator's core logic relies on a multi-factor scoring system. The Quant Rating evaluates five to six different technical metrics (Trend, RSI Momentum, MACD, ROC, Bollinger %B, and Volume) to create a normalized composite score. This score is then mapped to a qualitative rating (e.g., STRONG BUY, HOLD, SELL). The signal engine uses an ATR-based sensitivity filter to ensure signals adapt to current market volatility, reducing noise during sideways price action.

Settings

Signal Engine

  • Signal Sensitivity (ATR mult): Adjusts the threshold for trend changes. Higher values result in fewer, more significant signals.
  • ATR Length: The lookback period for calculating volatility.
  • Confirmation signals: Toggles the display of primary BUY/SELL labels.
  • Contrarian reversals: Enables triangle markers for overextended reversal setups.
  • Repaint-safe: If enabled, signals only appear after the bar closes to prevent flickering.

Trend Overlay

  • Trend cloud + bar tint: Toggles the EMA cloud and bar coloring based on trend direction.
  • Fast/Slow EMA: Defines the periods for the trend detection cloud.
  • Smart trailing stop: Displays the underlying trend baseline used for signal generation.

Targets (TP / SL)

  • Project TP / SL on signals: Enables the visual projection of risk/reward levels.
  • Stop distance (ATR mult): Sets the SL distance from the entry price.
  • TP1/TP2 (R multiple): Sets the take-profit targets as a multiple of the initial risk.

Support / Resistance

  • Dynamic S/R zones: Toggles the drawing of supply/demand boxes.
  • Pivot lookback: The number of bars used to identify local highs and lows.

Quant Rating

  • HTF bias timeframe: Sets the timeframe used for the secondary trend analysis row in the panel.
  • Panel position: Moves the dashboard to different corners of the chart.

FAQ

How do I interpret the Quant Rating? The rating summarizes various technical factors into a single verdict. A "STRONG BUY" indicates alignment across trend, momentum, and volume, while "HOLD" suggests a neutral or ranging market.

Can I use this for scalping or swing trading? Yes, the script is multi-asset and multi-timeframe compatible. While it performs optimally on 4H and Daily timeframes for trend following, settings can be adjusted for lower timeframes.

How do I access the Apex Signals & Overlays + Quant Rating? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
