VDUB_BINARY_PRO_3_V2 FINAL + Strategy
May 17, 2015

The VDUB_BINARY_PRO_3_V2 indicator provides a comprehensive multi-layered technical analysis framework designed for binary options and trend-following strategies by combining volatility bands, moving average crossovers, and multi-timeframe support/resistance levels.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify trend direction and potential reversal zones. The indicator integrates several distinct components to form a cohesive trading view:
- Trend Identification: The script uses a combination of WMA and SMA baselines. A short-term SMA (3-period) crossing a long-term SMA (13-period) provides immediate trend signals, while background coloring highlights the prevailing market bias.
- Volatility Envelopes: The outer bands, calculated using WMA and ATR, act as dynamic overbought and oversold zones. Price interaction with these bands often suggests potential exhaustion or mean reversion.
- Multi-Timeframe (MTF) Levels: The "Vdub Tetris" component plots high and low levels from higher timeframes (set via the LRG Channel TF). These act as significant supply and demand zones.
- Reversal Signals: Triangle shapes appear on the chart when price hits the higher-timeframe boundaries (Sell level or Buy level), indicating potential entry points for binary or scalp trades.
- Zigzag Logic: The Zigzag feature helps traders visualize market structure by connecting significant highs and lows, filtering out minor price noise.
Details
The script is a refactored version of the original VDUB Binary Pro series, optimized for visual clarity and alert functionality. It utilizes the following logic:
- Baseline_VX1: This core component uses a dual SMA crossover (3 and 13) to determine the short-term trend.
- ATR Scaling: The volatility bands use a 100-period ATR weighted by a 56-period WMA to create adaptive outer boundaries.
- Channel Logic: The script employs
request.securityto fetch data from different timeframes (defaulting to 30m and 240m), allowing for a top-down analysis of market structure within a single chart. - Center Band: Users can adjust the MA Period (often set to 34) to act as a central equilibrium line for the price action.
Settings
- WMA Length: Sets the lookback period for the Weighted Moving Average used in the volatility bands.
- ATR Length/Parameter: Defines the period for the Average True Range calculation to determine band width.
- Scale of ATR: Multiplier to adjust the distance of the outer bands.
- MA Period: Controls the period for the central swing high/low bands.
- MA BAND: Toggle to display or hide the Swing High and Swing Low plots.
- LRG Channel TF: Determines the timeframe used for the primary MTF support and resistance levels.
- SML Channel TF: Determines the timeframe for the secondary, smaller channel lines.
- Zigzag length: Controls the sensitivity of the Zigzag structural lines.
- Zigzag 2: Toggle to show an alternative Zigzag calculation based on price hits of the channel levels.
FAQ
How do I interpret the background colors? The background highlights the relationship between the short and long SMAs. A specific color shift indicates the trend has flipped, assisting in identifying the current market momentum.
What do the triangle shapes signify? Triangle shapes appear when the current price interacts with higher-timeframe resistance (red triangle down) or support (green triangle up), signaling potential reversal points.
