The Synapse Trail Pro indicator provides a comprehensive trading framework by fusing a ratcheted ATR trail, a multi-factor regime engine, and an automated risk-management layer into a single decision-support system. It aims to filter choppy market noise by grading every signal (A/B/C) based on volume, momentum, and higher-timeframe confluence while projecting real-time stop-loss and take-profit levels.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to navigate different market environments. Users can rely on the automated trail flips for directional bias while using the grading system to filter out low-probability setups.

  • Signal Interpretation: When a trail flip occurs, the script plots a "▲ Long" or "▼ Short" label. The letter inside (A, B, or C) represents the quality score. An "A" grade signifies high confluence across all five internal factors, while a "C" grade suggests a weak trend or high-risk environment.
  • Regime Filtering: A ⚠ warning icon appears next to signals fired during choppy regimes. Users can use this to skip trades when the Market Regime Score is below 35, indicating a lack of directional conviction.
  • Automated Risk Management: Upon a signal, the indicator draws an Entry line, a Stop-Loss (SL) line, and three Take-Profit (TP) levels. If "Break-Even After TP1" is enabled, the SL automatically moves to the entry price once the first target is hit, allowing for risk-free runners.
  • Dashboard Monitoring: The on-screen dashboard provides real-time statistics, including win rates (based on TP1 hits), average R-multiples, and current market context (ADX, RSI, and Volume status).

Details

The script's architecture is built on three core pillars:

  1. Ratcheted ATR Trail: Unlike standard trailing stops, the ratchet logic ensures the trail only tightens in the direction of the trade and never loosens. It utilizes an Adaptive Volatility Multiplier that scales based on the 100-bar ATR percentile, tightening during low volatility and widening during noise-heavy high-volatility periods.
  2. Composite Market Regime Score: A 0–100 score derived from ADX (40%), Choppiness Index (35%), and R² Linearity (25%). This blended approach identifies whether price action is trending linearly or rotating in a range.
  3. 5-Factor Quality Scoring: Signals are weighted based on:
    • HTF Bias: Alignment with a 4x higher timeframe EMA.
    • Volume: Confirmation against a 20-bar SMA (bypassed for FX).
    • RSI: Momentum alignment (e.g., RSI > 50 for longs).
    • Regime Score: Contribution from the trend engine.
    • Break Strength: The distance price pierced beyond the ATR band.

Settings

Main Settings

  • ATR Length: Period for volatility calculations (Default: 13).
  • Base ATR Multiplier: Sets the width of the trailing band (Default: 1.618).
  • Trail EMA Length: Period for the trail center line (Default: 21).
  • Adaptive Volatility Multiplier: Toggles auto-scaling of the multiplier based on volatility rank.
  • Ratchet Trail: Ensures the trailing stop only moves in the direction of the trade.

Signal Filters

  • Min Quality Score: Filters signals below a specific grade (e.g., 75 for A-grade only).
  • Hard-skip Choppy Signals: Suppresses all signals when the regime engine detects chop.
  • Use HTF Bias Filter: Enables or disables the higher-timeframe trend alignment check.
  • Volume Threshold: Defines the multiple of average volume required for confirmation.

Risk Management

  • Risk Preset: Selects between Conservative, Balanced, Aggressive, or Scalping presets for SL/TP distances.
  • Break-Even After TP1: Moves SL to entry once the first target is reached.
  • SL/TP Line Styles: Customizes the visual appearance of risk levels on the chart.

Dashboard & Visuals

  • Trail Color Scheme: Options for Adaptive (High vis), Premium Indigo (Muted), or Monochrome.
  • Double Trail Line: Adds a secondary dashed line to create a "channel" visual.
  • Show Dashboard: Toggles the visibility of the trade, market, and stats table.

FAQ

How do I access the Synapse Trail Pro indicator? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.

What is the difference between a "B" grade and an "A" grade signal? An "A" grade signal (Score ≥ 75) requires almost all confluence factors, such as HTF bias and volume, to be aligned. A "B" grade (Score ≥ 55) is an acceptable signal where most, but not all, factors are in alignment.

Does this indicator repaint its signals? No, the indicator is designed to be non-repainting. All signals and calculations are gated by bar confirmation (barclose), and the HTF data uses a non-repainting security call pattern to ensure no future leakage.
