The Bitcoin Power Law by Luisoft indicator provides a quantitative framework based on the Power Law model to analyze Bitcoin's long-term structural growth and identify macroeconomic accumulation or distribution zones. By applying a logarithmic scale to Bitcoin's price history, this tool visualizes the asset's exponential expansion as a linear trajectory, allowing traders to project potential future price corridors based on historical mathematical constants.

Usage

The Usage section focuses on identifying long-term market cycles and potential price targets using standard deviation bands. The indicator is primarily designed for high-timeframe analysis (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) to filter out short-term volatility.

  • Fair Value Identification: The central line (Fair Value) represents the calculated "mean" of Bitcoin's price since the genesis block. Price action oscillating around this line suggests a balanced market.
  • Accumulation Zones: When price enters the lower bands (-1σ and -2σ), it is mathematically considered "undervalued" relative to the Power Law trajectory, often signaling long-term buying opportunities.
  • Distribution Zones: When price reaches the upper bands (+1σ and +2σ), the asset is considered "overvalued," suggesting historical peaks or periods of extreme market euphoria.
  • Future Projections: Users can extend the model into the future to estimate where the fair value and deviation bands might sit in the coming years, aiding in multi-year portfolio planning.

Details

The script operates on the concept that Bitcoin's price is a function of time, specifically following the formula: Price = 10^(Intercept + Slope * log10(Days Since Genesis)).

Unlike standard linear regressions, this model accounts for the diminishing returns and the exponential nature of Bitcoin's adoption. The implementation uses a Z-Score calculation to determine how many standard deviations the current price is away from the fair value, which is then displayed in an on-chart dashboard. The script also includes a projection engine that utilizes line and linefill objects to render a smooth future path without requiring actual historical bars to exist.

Settings

Configuración de Tiempo (Time Configuration)

  • Año de Inicio (Génesis): Sets the year of Bitcoin's starting point (default 2009).
  • Mes de Inicio: Sets the month of the starting point.
  • Día de Inicio: Sets the day of the starting point.

Parámetros de la Ley de Potencias (Power Law Parameters)

  • Intercepto (A): Adjusts the vertical starting point of the power law curve on a log scale.
  • Pendiente (B): Adjusts the growth rate or "steepness" of the curve.
  • 1σ Ancho (log10): Determines the width of the standard deviation bands in logarithmic units.

Proyección Futura (Future Projection)

  • Extender en el Futuro (Años): Defines how many years beyond the current date the model should project.
  • Opacidad Líneas Futuras (%): Controls the visibility of the projected trend lines.
  • Opacidad Rellenos Futuros (%): Controls the visibility of the colored zones in the projection.

Interfaz (Interface)

  • Mostrar Panel de Datos: Toggles the visibility of the bottom-right information table containing the Z-Score and price data.

FAQ

How do I interpret the Z-Score in the dashboard? The Z-Score measures the distance of the current price from the Fair Value in terms of standard deviations. A positive Z-Score indicates the price is above fair value (potentially overbought), while a negative Z-Score indicates it is below (potentially oversold).

Can I use this indicator for assets other than Bitcoin? While the math can be applied to other assets, the default parameters (Slope and Intercept) are specifically calibrated for Bitcoin's historical price action since 2009.
