Strong Session SD Zones | ProjectSyndicate

The Strong Session SD Zones indicator automatically maps and power-ranks session-based supply and demand zones that price consistently reacts to. It tracks each zone through its entire lifecycle—formation, tests, breakout, and invalidation—while assigning a live score from 0–10 based on real price interaction and volume data.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify high-probability reversal or continuation levels. By batching zones by trading session (Asia, London, New York), the tool allows traders to see which specific session levels are being defended or flipped.
- Zone Interaction: Each zone is shaded by type (Supply = Red, Demand = Green). When price invalidates a zone (via wick or close, depending on settings), the zone is re-shaded and marked with an "✗" to indicate a breakout or flip.
- Power-Ranking: Zones are graded based on the impulse of the move that created them, volume, rejection wicks, and freshness. Traders should focus on "Elite" or "Strong" zones (scores 7/10 or higher) for higher probability setups.
- Visual Interpretation: The indicator uses a strength-sharpened fill; strong zones appear opaque and sharp, while weak or decaying zones appear faint. This allows for instant visual filtering of market noise.
- Cleaning the Chart: If multiple zones form in the same session at similar prices, the "Overlap Suppression" feature merges them into a single clean band to prevent chart clutter.
Details
The script executes a sophisticated scoring algorithm that evaluates four primary factors:
- Departure Impulse: The strength of the price move away from the zone relative to the ATR.
- Volume: The amount of volume traded during the zone's formation compared to a baseline.
- Rejection Wicks: The depth of wicks piercing the zone before a rejection occurs.
- Freshness: A decay factor that reduces the score as a zone is repeatedly mitigated or left idle for long periods.
The tool employs "Performance Guards," keeping only a user-defined number of sessions and zones in memory. Unlike standard pivot tools that display all historical levels, this script retired zones are fully removed from the calculation to maintain fast load times and chart clarity.
Settings
Session
- New-Zone Session: The boundary that starts a new batch of zones (Daily, Asian, London, New York, or Custom).
- Sessions To Display: The number of recent sessions to keep on the chart.
- Max Zones Per Side / Session: Limits the number of supply and demand zones shown per session to prevent clutter.
Zone Detection & Height
- Swing Length: Sets the sensitivity for pivot detection; higher values result in fewer, more significant zones.
- Merge Overlapping Zones: When enabled, stacks same-session zones into a single band.
- Universal Zone Height (ATR x): Normalizes the thickness of all zones based on a multiple of the ATR for a consistent visual look.
Strength Scoring (0-10)
- Strong Threshold: The minimum score required for a zone to be considered "Strong."
- Scoring Weights: Adjustable sliders for Impulse, Volume, Wick Rejection, and Freshness to customize how the 0-10 grade is calculated.
- Decay Strength While Idle: Gradually reduces the score of zones that price has not interacted with for a set period.
Display & Alerts
- Sharpen Fill By Strength: Adjusts transparency based on the zone's current score.
- Proximity Alert (%): Triggers a notification when price approaches a supply or demand zone within a specific percentage.
FAQ
How do I interpret the zone labels? Each zone contains a label showing its rank, price range, star rating, numerical score (0-10), tier (e.g., ELITE, STRONG), retest count (R:), and the session name where it originated.
What is the difference between a "WEAK" and "ELITE" zone? An ELITE zone typically has a high departure impulse, significant volume on formation, and remains unmitigated (fresh), whereas a WEAK zone may have formed on low volume or has been tested multiple times.
How can I access this indicator? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
