The Live Position Tracker Leverage Calculator indicator provides an interactive on-chart tool for real-time trade management and risk calculation. It allows users to visually define entry points, targets, and stops to instantly calculate position size, liquidation distance, and live PnL anchored to a specific entry candle.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used, focusing on the interactive workflow and visual output.

To use the tool, add it to your chart and follow the interactive prompts to select:

  1. The Entry Candle where the trade begins.
  2. The Entry Price level.
  3. The Take Profit (TP) level.
  4. The Stop Loss (SL) level.

Once set, the tool automatically detects trade direction (Long/Short). It tracks the trade from entry to exit, recording the Maximum Favorable Excursion (MFE) and Maximum Adverse Excursion (MAE). When a target or stop is hit, the tool freezes the data, providing a static snapshot of the trade’s performance.

Visual Components

  • On-Chart Lines: Displays Entry, TP, SL, and Liquidation levels.
  • Filled Zones: Shaded areas between entry and targets (Green for TP, Red for SL).
  • MFE/MAE Markers: Labels showing the best and worst points price reached during the trade.
  • Info Panel: A comprehensive dashboard showing account metrics, risk-to-reward ratios, and trade history.

Details

The indicator utilizes isolated-margin approximation logic to calculate liquidation prices based on user-defined leverage and Maintenance Margin (MMR).

Key Concepts:

  • Maintenance Margin (MMR): This is the minimum equity required to keep a position open. Users should adjust this based on their exchange's specific tier table for accurate liquidation tracking.
  • Fee Integration: Unlike standard calculators, this tool accounts for entry and exit fees (Taker fees) to provide a "Net PnL" and a refined "Breakeven" price.
  • Execution Logic: The tool tracks the price action from the specified entryTime. If the price hits the TP, SL, or Liquidation level, the status updates, and the tracking duration (bars in trade) stops.

Settings

Position Setup

  • Direction: Choose "Auto", "Long", or "Short". Auto detects direction based on TP/SL placement.
  • Entry/TP/SL Inputs: Coordinate inputs for price and time, typically set via clicking the chart.
  • Extend Lines Right: Determines how many bars into the future the tracking lines extend.
  • Label Offsets: Adjusts the horizontal spacing for labels to prevent chart clutter.

Account & Risk

  • Account Capital: The total margin available for the trade.
  • Leverage: Sets the multiplier for the position size.
  • Maintenance Margin %: The percentage used to calculate the liquidation price.
  • Fee per side (%): The percentage fee charged by the exchange for opening and closing the position.

Visual & Colors

  • Show Zones/Liq/BE: Toggles the visibility of TP/SL zones, liquidation lines, and breakeven lines.
  • Live PnL Label Style: Toggle between "Solid" or "Pulsing" visual effects for the live price tag.
  • Panel Theme: Presets for Dark, Light, or Custom color schemes for the info panel.

FAQ

How do I adjust the liquidation price for different assets? You must manually input the Maintenance Margin (MMR) in the "Account & Risk" settings. Major assets like BTC usually require 0.4–0.5%, while low-cap coins may require 2.5% or more.

Does the profit calculation include trading fees? Yes, the indicator calculates both Gross PnL (price movement only) and Net PnL (adjusted for entry and exit taker fees).

How do I access the Live Position Tracker Leverage Calculator? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
