# Arbitrage Matrix

Compares price and volume for one asset across every enabled crypto exchange or forex broker (one group at a time) in a row-by-column matrix. Each cell quantifies the discrepancy between two venues over your lookback, with gradient coloring that makes the largest mispricings jump out. A marketplace-wide arbitrage scan condensed into a single dashboard.

**Arbitrage Matrix** lays out price and volume discrepancies for one asset across every enabled crypto exchange or forex broker in a single row-by-column grid. A natural evolution of the house arbitrage tooling, it applies [multi-venue composition](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/cross-instrument-composition/) to the whole marketplace at once, so the mispricing between any two sources is one glance away.

## How to Trade the Arbitrage Matrix?

- **Row versus column**: each cell shows the row source relative to the column source for the selected data type. With Average Price and a length of 20, a reading of 100 means the row venue has averaged $100 above the column venue, while -100 means it sits below.
- **Data types**: switch the grid between Last Price, Last Volume, Average Price, and Average Volume; venues with no data for the asset simply drop out of the matrix.
- **Gradient background**: bullish and bearish coloring with an optional gradient, enabled by default, makes the largest discrepancies stand out immediately.

Sources auto-select by asset class (crypto assets read exchanges, anything else reads brokers), and every venue can be toggled individually, so you define exactly the data universe being compared. Arbitrage windows are short-lived; a persistent, structured overview is what makes them findable at all.

## Arbitrage Matrix Settings

- **Sources**: crypto exchanges, forex brokers, or automatic selection based on the asset.
- **Average Length**: lookback behind the averaged data types.
- **Crypto Exchanges / Forex Brokers**: enable or disable individual venues.
- **Data**: which data type fills the matrix.
- **Position / Size**: dashboard placement and scale.
- **Style**: bullish and bearish colors plus the background gradient toggle.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What does a negative cell value mean?

It means the row source trades or averages below the column source by that amount for the selected data type. Flip the row and column and the same relationship reads positive.

### Should I use this or the Arbitrage Detector?

Use each for what it does best: the Matrix is the wide-angle scan of all venue pairs, while the [Arbitrage Detector](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/indicator/arbitrage-detector/) adds spread history, percentile grading, and delta columns for the charted asset. Together they cover discovery and context.

### What does it cost to use the Arbitrage Matrix?

Nothing. It is free in the LuxAlgo Library. From this page you can also open it in Quant, our coding agent, and explore the venue grid before adding it to a chart. You can also copy the source code from this page and run it anywhere Pine Script® runs.
