The SMC Confluence + EMA 9/15 + Fib 0.5 indicator is a comprehensive tool designed to identify high-probability trading setups by merging short-term exponential momentum with institutional market structure, liquidity analysis, and equilibrium pricing.

Usage

The indicator provides automated signals based on a multi-layered confluence of technical conditions. Users can look for "CONFIRMED" labels which appear when all internal logic requirements align:

  • Bullish Setups: A "CONFIRMED BUY" appears when the market structure is bullish (CHoCH), the fast EMA (9) is above the slow EMA (15), price is trading in the "Discount" zone (below the 0.5 Fibonacci level), and a liquidity sweep or Fair Value Gap (FVG) is detected.
  • Bearish Setups: A "CONFIRMED SELL" appears when the market structure is bearish, the fast EMA is below the slow EMA, price is in the "Premium" zone (above the 0.5 level), and a bearish liquidity sweep or FVG occurs.

The tool is highly effective for intraday scalping on lower timeframes (5m, 15m) or swing trading on higher timeframes (1H, 4H) across assets like XAUUSD, BTCUSD, and major Forex pairs.

Details

The script implements several institutional trading concepts to filter out retail "noise":

  • Market Structure (CHoCH): Tracks "Change of Character" by monitoring pivots. A break above the recent swing high signals a bullish shift, while a break below the recent swing low signals a bearish shift.
  • Momentum Filtering: Uses 9 and 15 EMAs to ensure entries align with immediate institutional momentum.
  • Equilibrium (Fib 0.5): Automatically calculates the active dealing range between the last swing high and low. The 0.5 level acts as the threshold between Premium (expensive) and Discount (cheap) pricing.
  • Liquidity & Imbalance: Identifies liquidity sweeps (stop hunts) where price briefly exits a range before reversing, and detects Fair Value Gaps (FVGs) where significant volume leaves unfilled price zones.

Settings

Main Settings

  • Swing Period: Determines the lookback period for calculating pivot highs and lows used for market structure and Fibonacci calculations.
  • Fast EMA: The length for the immediate momentum moving average (default 9).
  • Slow EMA: The length for the structural support/resistance moving average (default 15).
  • Show 0.5 Equilibrium: Toggles the visibility of the Fibonacci 0.5 line on the chart.

FAQ

How do I use the CHoCH labels?

CHoCH (Change of Character) labels indicate a shift in market structure. A bullish CHoCH suggests a trend reversal to the upside, while a bearish CHoCH suggests a reversal to the downside.

What does the "CONFIRMED" label mean?

The label indicates that four distinct conditions (Trend, Momentum, Premium/Discount, and Liquidity/FVG) have converged simultaneously, signaling a high-probability institutional entry point.
