# Exotic Harmonics

Exotic Harmonics is an indicator on [Vela](https://vela.luxalgo.com/chart), our next-generation charting platform, written in Pine Script®.

The definitive clean build for exotic harmonic patterns: Nen Star, White Swan and Black Swan XABCD structures detected from alternating confirmed swings, each leg checked against configurable Fibonacci ratio windows. Completions draw the legs, measured ratios, an embedded AB=CD projection and a risk template with invalidation and 0.382 / 0.618 targets.

**Exotic Harmonics** is the definitive clean build of the [exotic harmonics](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/exotic-harmonics/) catalog: the Nen Star, White Swan and Black Swan, five-point XABCD structures specified by ratio windows outside the classic set. Confirmed swings alternate to supply the X, A, B, C and D anchors; when a fresh D swing lands inside a pattern's windows, the build draws the legs and measured ratios, checks the embedded AB=CD® for confluence, and lays down a risk template.

## How to Trade the Exotic Harmonics?

- **Bullish completion**: a swing-low D inside the windows. Watch the zone for reversal evidence higher. Bearish completions mirror at a swing-high D.
- **AB=CD confluence**: when the embedded projection lands with the XA-derived completion, the D label notes it and a dedicated alert fires.
- **Invalidation line**: a decisive close beyond the tolerated D extreme kills the setup mechanically.
- **T1 0.382 / T2 0.618**: initial targets on the CD leg, each tracked with its own alert.

## Exotic Harmonics Settings

- **Swing Length** (default 10): bars each side confirming the anchor swings.
- **Nen Star**, **White Swan**, **Black Swan** (all default on): which structures are scanned.
- **Ratio Tolerance** (default 0.05): accepted deviation for the Nen Star's XA anchor and the AB=CD check; also pads its invalidation extreme.
- **Nen Star Ratios**: **B of XA** 0.382–0.786, **C of AB** 1.13–1.414, **D of BC** 1.272–2.0, **D of XA Anchor** 1.272.
- **White Swan Ratios**: **B of XA** 0.382–0.724, **C of AB** 2.0–4.237, **D of BC** 0.5–0.886, **D of XA** 0.236–0.886.
- **Black Swan Ratios**: **B of XA** 1.382–2.618, **C of AB** 0.236–0.5, **D of BC** 1.128–2.0, **D of XA** 1.128–2.618.
- **Point Labels**, **Leg Ratio Labels**, **Pattern Fill**, **Embedded AB=CD Projection**, **Trade Levels** (all on) and **Leg Line Width** (default 2) control the drawings.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do these differ from classic harmonic patterns?
Structures like the Gartley or the [Cypher](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/indicator/cypher/) come from a settled catalog. Exotics are community-defined and their published windows vary by source, which is why every bound here is an input: fix one specification and apply it consistently.

### What separates the Nen Star from the two Swans?
The Nen Star forces C beyond A and anchors D near the 1.272 extension of XA. The White Swan pairs a deep BC extension with a completion inside the XA leg; the Black Swan is commonly presented as its inverse, with B beyond X and D well past the XA leg.

### Why did a pattern redraw after it appeared?
An extending D swing refines the same structure, so its drawings are replaced in place rather than stacked. Only the newest completion carries the tracked invalidation and target levels.
