# Multi Ranges Volume Distribution

Multi Ranges Volume Distribution is an indicator on [Vela](https://vela.luxalgo.com/chart), our next-generation charting platform, written in Pine Script®.

Stacks up to three volume profiles on one chart (daily, weekly, and monthly by default) each marking its range high, range low, and point of control. Rows can show total volume shaded by each row's buy share, or buy and sell volume in separate boxes, showing which side dominated the trading at every price. For traders who read short- and long-term acceptance levels side by side.

**Multi Ranges Volume Distribution** draws up to three [volume profiles](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/volume-profile/) side by side, one per user-chosen timeframe: daily, weekly, and monthly out of the box. Each distribution marks its range's top price, bottom price, and [point of control (POC)](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/point-of-control/), with accumulated volume shown per row, so short-term and long-term areas of price interest can be compared in a single view.

## How to Trade the Multi Ranges Volume Distribution?

- **POC per range**: the heaviest-traded price of each period, a key reference for support, resistance, and where each timeframe's business was really done.
- **Overlapping ranges**: volume concentrating at the same price across timeframes flags high-interest zones; divergence between profiles hints whether short-term speculators or longer-term participants are driving the action.
- **Buy/sell split**: switch the rows to separated buy and sell volume (each row shows its buy and sell totals side by side; Total mode instead shades each row by its buy share) to see which side absorbed the trading at a level before counting on it as a reversal or breakout zone.

Row count is the resolution dial: more rows zoom into tighter price zones, fewer rows sketch the larger trend context.

## Multi Ranges Volume Distribution Settings

- **Volume Display**: total volume per row, or buy and sell volume split.
- **Distance Between Each Box**: spacing between the profiles for chart clarity.
- **Period A / B / C**: the timeframe and the number of volume rows for each of the three ranges, set independently.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What does the delta coloring tell me?
In Total mode each row is shaded from the bearish to the bullish color by its share of buy volume (volume from up candles), so a level built mostly on up-candle volume reads differently from one built mostly on down-candle volume; the Buy & Sell view prints the two totals side by side instead. That makes it a quick confirmation layer for judging breakout pressure or spotting absorption ahead of reversals.

### How is this different from a swing-anchored profile?
This tool builds its distributions over fixed ranges from the timeframes you choose, which suits comparing daily activity against weekly and monthly context. The [Swing Volume Profiles tool](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/indicator/swing-volume-profiles/) anchors profiles to detected price swings instead, trading calendar consistency for structure-by-structure analysis.
