# Reversal Probability Rows

Divides the recent price range into horizontal rows and assigns each a reversal probability drawn from the distribution of historical pivot highs and lows. Red boxes quantify resistance overhead, green boxes support below, with opacity scaled to pivot density. A statistical alternative to hand-drawn support and resistance levels.

**Reversal Probability Rows** turns historical pivot data into quantified odds of a [price reversal](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/reversal/), dividing the lookback range into evenly spaced horizontal rows and measuring how often tops and bottoms formed in each. Where most support and resistance work relies on eyeballed lines, this build replaces the drawing with a distribution: every level carries a percentage instead of an opinion.

## How to Trade the Reversal Probability Rows?

- **Red boxes above price**: the share of historical pivot highs that formed in that row, the probability the level behaves as resistance on a revisit.
- **Green boxes below price**: the equivalent share of pivot lows, the odds of a bullish reaction at that support.
- **Current row coloring**: the row price is trading inside is colored by its dominant history: red when tops outnumber bottoms, green when bottoms lead.
- **Box opacity**: transparency tracks pivot density: significant rows read solid, thin ones fade, a built-in heatmap of zone strength.

Every percentage is normalized: pivots of one type inside the row, divided by all pivots of that type across the lookback, times 100. Typical uses follow directly: shorts or profit-taking near dense resistance, pullback entries and stop placement around high-probability support, and mean-reversion plays in range-bound conditions.

## Reversal Probability Rows Settings

- **Range Period**: bars used for the high/low range and pivot statistics: larger for broad context, smaller to adapt faster.
- **Number of Rows**: vertical granularity. More rows give narrower, more precise zones.
- **Pivot Sensitivity**: how many bars must flank a high or low before it counts as a pivot. Lower yields more pivots, higher keeps only strong turns.
- **Show Pivot Markers**: plots a dot for every historical pivot feeding the statistics.
- **Box Width (Bars)**: how far the probability boxes extend to the right of price.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Does the indicator repaint?

Pivot detection waits for confirmation per the Pivot Sensitivity setting, so a pivot only enters the statistics once fully formed. From then on, its contribution stays consistent within the active lookback window.

### How is this different from drawing levels manually?

Hand-drawn levels depend on which swings catch your eye; this build counts every confirmed pivot in the window and reports the resulting distribution. Pairing the rows with a trigger tool such as [Reversal Candlestick Structure](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/indicator/reversal-candlestick-structure/) adds timing to the location the probabilities provide.

### Where do I get Reversal Probability Rows?

It is free in the LuxAlgo Library, and you can put it through its paces in Quant, our coding agent, without leaving this page. You can also copy the source code from this page and run it anywhere Pine Script® runs.
