# Trending Market Toolkit

Trending Market Toolkit is an indicator on [Vela](https://vela.luxalgo.com/chart), our next-generation charting platform, written in Pine Script®.

Builds complete entry models on trending structure: it detects reversals and broken trendlines, draws reversal areas as trade triggers, and maps targets and stops with live risk-reward metrics. Detection can run on your chart's timeframe or a higher one, and a threshold filters out trades below your minimum R:R. A framework tool for discretionary traders.

**Trending Market Toolkit** assembles complete entry models out of trending structure. It detects market reversals and broken trendlines, draws the reversal area that acts as the trade trigger, and frames each opportunity with its risk and reward zones already mapped. Detection keys off the prevailing [trend regime](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/trend-regime-label/), a strong fit for discretionary traders who want every setup framed the same way.

## How to Trade the Trending Market Toolkit?

- **Choose a detection mode**: Trend only, Reversal only, or Both. In Both, reversals take priority over trends, yielding more precise signals.
- **Trade from the reversal area**: the highlighted zone acts as the trigger for potential trades.
- **Respect the risk/reward readout**: every model plots its risk and reward areas; detections below your minimum ratio can be filtered out.
- **Scale detection up**: read structures from the chart timeframe or a higher one. A 5m chart can trade 30m or 1H structure.

Swing detection underpins all of it: the toolkit confirms [swing structure](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/concept/swing-structure-grammar/) with one lookback and finer internal swings with another, keeping signal granularity in your hands.

## Trending Market Toolkit Settings

- **Show** (default Both): filter detections to Trends, Reversals, or Both.
- **Swing Length**: candles needed to confirm swing highs and lows; larger values detect broader swings.
- **Custom Timeframe**: chart timeframe or a custom higher one for detection.
- **Reversal Area Threshold**: grows or shrinks the reversal areas.
- **Trade Trigger Length**: candles confirming internal swing points; keep it at or below Swing Length.
- **Extension**: the default target (0) or extended 0.27 / 0.618 projections.
- **Risk to Reward Threshold**: the minimum ratio a detection must clear; zero lets everything through.
- **High Risk to Reward** (on by default): places the stop just beyond the trigger area instead of beyond the swing extreme, for a tighter stop and a higher risk-to-reward ratio.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Should I run trend mode or reversal mode?

Trend mode keeps you aligned with continuation structure, reversal mode hunts turns, and Both runs the two together with reversals taking precedence, the configuration that yields the toolkit's most precise signals.

### How does it compare with the Market Structure Targets Model?

The [Market Structure Targets Model](https://www.luxalgo.com/library/indicator/market-structure-targets-model/) concentrates on projecting targets from structural events; this toolkit's focus is the entry model itself: trigger area, stop, target, and risk-reward filter in one package.

### How do I access the Trending Market Toolkit?

The toolkit is free on the LuxAlgo Library. To pressure-test an entry model, run it through Quant, our coding agent, right from this page. You can also copy the source code from this page and run it anywhere Pine Script® runs.
