# Market Trackers: Congress & Insider Trading Data

> Free, open data on who moves the market: congress stock trades, insider filings, government contracts, lobbying, and patents, straight from official documents with a citation on every row.

## Follow the money in the public record.

What Congress is trading. What insiders are selling. Who just won a federal contract, and who is lobbying on which bill. Market Trackers turns it all into one clean, free dataset, with every row linked to the government document it came from.

## Track any member of Congress.

Every senator and representative who files, tracked from the filing itself: their trades, their committees, their most-traded tickers. The live Congress Tracker runs on this exact dataset, right here on LuxAlgo.

- All trackers: https://www.luxalgo.com/markets/trackers/

## Every row shows its receipt.

Every row carries the link to the original document, when it was retrieved, and how confident the parser was, so you never have to take a number on faith.

## 18 datasets. Primary sources only.

Who in Congress bought what. Which insiders are selling. Which funds hold what, who won federal money, whose patents and trials are landing. Everything comes straight from the government’s own documents, never scraped from someone else’s product.

## The pipeline

- Incremental + idempotent: Per-source watermarks and natural-key upserts: syncs resume where they stopped, and re-runs never duplicate.
- Polite by unit test: The EDGAR client is hard-capped at 10 requests per second by a rate limiter with a test asserting exactly that.
- Watched daily: Canaries fingerprint every source format each day and update the health board in the README when something drifts.

## The dumps are the second repo.

CI republishes everything daily to market-trackers-data as CC0: daily JSON deltas, stable latest.json URLs, gzipped year snapshots with Parquet siblings, RSS feeds per dataset and per ticker, and a zero-build explorer. Patents alone span year shards back to 1976. Data files are written only by the publish workflow; human pull requests to them are closed.

## Fresh where freshness matters.

Publishes run daily Monday through Saturday, and the two most time-sensitive datasets (congress trades and insider transactions) also ride an intraday fast lane about every two hours on weekdays. Analytics stay deliberately minimal and bring-your-own-prices: the pipeline ships no market data and computes no scores.

## Twenty-four tools on the record.

Ask your agent “what did Congress buy this week?” and get an answer with the filings cited, row by row. All twenty-four tools answer from your local store, and a test in the repo pins this exact list so it can’t drift from the code. Four hosted tools (trackers_datasets, trackers_query, trackers_latest, trackers_ticker) are also live on the hosted LuxAlgo MCP, keyless, reading the same CC0 dumps.

Local MCP server (`market-trackers-mcp`, from a clone): `git clone https://github.com/LuxAlgo/market-trackers && cd market-trackers && pnpm install && pnpm build` · hosted: https://www.luxalgo.com/mcp/

## Ingest it, or just import it.

Sync from the primary sources yourself (SQLite by default, Postgres behind one flag), or clone the CC0 dumps and import: the archive is a restorable database, because import is the exact mirror image of export.

```bash
git clone https://github.com/LuxAlgo/market-trackers
cd market-trackers && pnpm install && pnpm build
market-trackers sync --source finra
market-trackers serve
# or skip ingestion: import the CC0 dumps
git clone https://github.com/LuxAlgo/market-trackers-data
market-trackers import ./market-trackers-data
```

## Free means free.

Public domain. Full stop. The code is MIT; the published dumps are CC0, dedicated to the public domain: use them for anything, commercial or not, no attribution required. No predictions, no signals, no conviction scores, no fabricated precision.
