The Supply/Demand Zones - Fixed v3 (Cross YES Only) indicator identifies and visualizes institutional supply and demand zones based on specific session-based price action and midpoint crossing criteria. It focuses on sessions where the market demonstrates a clear directional shift by crossing the range's midpoint, ensuring only zones with high potential institutional interest are highlighted.

Usage

The tool identifies price ranges during user-defined time sessions and applies a "Cross" validation filter. A zone is only considered valid if the session's Open and Close prices cross the mid-range level (Bullish: Open < Mid and Close > Mid; Bearish: Open > Mid and Close < Mid). Once a session completes and the cross condition is met, the script monitors real-time price action to confirm the zone.

To use the indicator effectively:

  • Session Identification: Define specific trading hours (e.g., London or New York open) to find high-liquidity zones.
  • Validation Monitoring: After a cross is detected, the script waits for the price to hit a target level (half the range size beyond the high/low) without returning to the midpoint.
  • Mitigation Tracking: Zones are drawn as extended boxes until the price retraces and "mitigates" the area, at which point the zone is considered filled.

Details

The script operates on a sophisticated monitoring logic. When a session ends with a valid "Cross," the indicator enters a monitoring state for up to 50 bars. During this phase, it looks for price expansion away from the session range. If the price reaches the target extension before touching the session midpoint, a supply or demand zone is permanently drawn. This strict implementation filters out "choppy" sessions and focuses on expansionary price moves that suggest institutional participation.

FAQ

How do I access Supply/Demand Zones - Fixed v3 (Cross YES Only)?

You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.

What does "Cross YES Only" mean?

It refers to the requirement that the session must open on one side of the midpoint and close on the other side to trigger the zone creation logic.

Why do some zones disappear or not appear at all?

Zones only appear if the price successfully hits a target extension without retracing to the midpoint within 50 bars. If the price touches the midpoint first, the zone is invalidated.
