Camarilla Strategy - breakouts of H4 and L4
Oct 16, 2015

The Camarilla Strategy - breakouts of H4 and L4 indicator is a specialized technical analysis tool designed to identify and execute momentum trades based on the breakout of key Camarilla pivot levels. It specifically targets the H4 (resistance) and L4 (support) levels to signal potential trend continuations or significant intraday breakouts.
Usage
The strategy operates on the principle that the H4 and L4 levels represent significant price barriers. In a typical Camarilla trading environment, price stays within the H3 and L3 levels; however, when price breaks through the H4 or L4 levels, it often indicates a strong directional move.
- Long Entry: Triggered when the price closes above the Daily H4 level. This suggests an upside breakout and potential bullish momentum.
- Short Entry: Triggered when the price closes below the Daily L4 level. This suggests a downside breakout and potential bearish momentum.
- Visual Interpretation: The script plots a comprehensive set of Camarilla levels (H1-H6 and L1-L6) and the central pivot, allowing traders to visualize the current price action relative to daily volatility boundaries.
Details
The script utilizes the standard Camarilla formula, which calculates levels based on the previous day's high, low, and close prices. The levels are fetched using request.security from the daily (1D) timeframe to ensure accuracy regardless of the chart's current resolution.
The implementation focuses on the "outer" levels:
- H4 & L4: Used as the primary breakout triggers.
- H5/H6 & L5/L6: Provided for additional profit-taking targets or extreme extension zones.
- H1-H3 & L1-L3: Act as internal range boundaries for context.
Settings
- Show Daily Pivots?: Toggles the visibility of the Camarilla levels on the chart. When enabled, it displays the central pivot and the six levels of resistance (H) and support (L).
