Cold MACD
Nov 25, 2022

The Cold MACD indicator plots moving average convergence divergence components directly on the price chart to help traders visualize trend shifts and momentum changes in real-time.
Usage
The Cold MACD can be used to identify trend direction and potential reversal points without needing to look away from price action. When the calculated moving average (MA) is above the Signal line, the area between them is highlighted in green, suggesting bullish momentum. Conversely, when the MA is below the Signal line, the area is highlighted in red, suggesting bearish momentum.
Traders can use the crossovers of these two lines as entry or exit signals. It is often recommended to use this tool alongside a standard MACD oscillator to confirm signals and filter out false breakouts during choppy market conditions.
Details
The indicator calculates a Moving Average based on the difference between the user-defined slow and fast lengths. It then generates a Signal line using a Simple Moving Average (SMA) of that initial calculation. Unlike the standard oscillator that sits in a separate pane, this implementation overlays these values onto the price chart. This allows for a more direct comparison between price structure (such as support/resistance levels) and MACD momentum.
