MACD Momentum Structure & Volume Profile Sniper
Dec 2, 2025

The MACD Momentum Structure & Volume Profile Sniper indicator utilizes MACD momentum swings to identify high-probability market structure points and automates Volume Profile analysis for precision entry zones. By filtering noise through momentum-based swing detection rather than traditional price fractals, the tool provides a clearer view of trend integrity and institutional value levels.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify trends and execute trades based on momentum and volume confluence.
- Trend Identification: The script identifies a Change of Character (CHoCH) or Break of Structure (BOS) based on MACD peaks. A green label indicates a bullish shift, while a red label indicates a bearish shift.
- Zone Visualization: When a structure break occurs, the tool automatically draws a Fixed Range Volume Profile (FRVP) over the impulse leg. Traders should look for price to return to the yellow Point of Control (POC) zone.
- Entry Execution: "BUY" or "SELL" signals are generated when price touches the POC zone and is confirmed by a MACD crossover on a user-defined lower timeframe (e.g., M1 for an H1 setup).
- Multi-Timeframe Analysis: The dashboard allows users to monitor the MACD trend direction across four different timeframes to ensure higher-timeframe alignment.
Details
The script moves away from traditional fractal-based highs and lows, which are often susceptible to fake-outs during consolidation. Instead, it links structure directly to momentum:
- Swing Highs: Defined only when the MACD Histogram crosses below zero (bearish momentum shift).
- Swing Lows: Defined only when the MACD Histogram crosses above zero (bullish momentum shift).
The integration of the Fixed Range Volume Profile (FRVP) targets the specific leg of price action that caused a structural break, highlighting the price level where the most volume was transacted. This "Point of Control" acts as a magnet for retracements and a foundation for high-probability reversals. Additionally, the tool utilizes Fibo Time Zones to project potential future pivot points based on the duration of previous momentum swings.
Settings
- Global MACD Settings: Adjusts the Fast, Slow, and Signal lengths to define the sensitivity of momentum swing detection.
- Nearby Lookback: Sets the number of bars the script looks back to find the exact price peak occurring during a MACD peak.
- Timeframe Selection (1-4): Configures up to four different timeframes to display on the chart and dashboard.
- Entry Confirmation TF: Selects the lower timeframe used for the final "Sniper" entry trigger.
- Fixed Range Volume Profile (VP): Toggles the automatic VP on CHoCH and allows for customization of row count, width percentage, and colors.
- Labels & Dashboard: Controls the visibility of CHoCH/BOS labels, swing labels (SH/SL), and the status dashboard.
- POC S/R Dashboard: Displays the three nearest support and resistance levels based on historical Point of Control data.
FAQ
How do I interpret the BUY/SELL sniper signals? The signals appear only when two conditions are met: price must retrace into the primary timeframe's POC zone, and the lower timeframe MACD must confirm the direction with a fresh crossover.
Why does the Volume Profile only appear on some moves? By default, the Volume Profile is generated specifically on the impulse leg that causes a Change of Character (CHoCH) to help identify the primary institutional value area of the new trend.
