ALL IN ONE RSI
Dec 18, 2021

The ALL IN ONE RSI indicator provides a comprehensive suite of momentum and volatility analysis tools by integrating Bollinger Bands, multiple moving averages, and automated divergence detection directly onto the Relative Strength Index.
Usage
The Usage section highlights how users can interpret the overlay of volatility bands and momentum lines on the RSI oscillator.
- Volatility Analysis: The Bollinger Bands applied to the RSI allow traders to identify periods of extreme momentum. When the RSI moves outside the bands, it indicates a high-volatility move; a return inside the bands can signal a potential mean reversion.
- Trend Confirmation: The Momentum Moving Average (EMA) acts as a dynamic threshold. A common strategy involves looking for the RSI to cross above or below this average to confirm a shift in short-term trend.
- Divergence Trading: The tool automatically identifies regular and hidden divergences (bullish and bearish). These are labeled on the oscillator to highlight potential price reversals or trend continuations.
- Signal Logic: The script generates "L" (Long) and "S" (Short) labels based on a combination of RSI being oversold/overbought relative to the Bollinger Bands and subsequently crossing the Momentum Moving Average.
Details
The script calculates a standard RSI and then applies an EMA-based Bollinger Band structure to it. Unlike standard price-based bands, these bands adapt to the velocity of the RSI itself. The divergence engine uses pivot lookbacks to compare price action peaks and valleys with corresponding RSI movements, identifying four types of divergence: Regular Bullish, Hidden Bullish, Regular Bearish, and Hidden Bearish.
