The SMC Fibonacci Golden Zone Oscillator indicator is a technical tool that integrates Smart Money Concepts (SMC) with Fibonacci retracement theory to analyze price action within a normalized 0-100 scale. By mapping the current price to a dynamic range defined by recent swing highs and lows, the tool provides a clear visual representation of market equilibrium and potential reversal zones.

Usage

The indicator functions as an oscillator in a separate pane, making it easier to identify market structure and key Fibonacci levels without cluttering the main price chart.

Smart Money Concepts (SMC) Structures

The script automatically identifies and labels several key market structures:

  • BOS (Break of Structure): Occurs when the price continues the existing trend by breaking a previous swing high or low.
  • CHoCH (Change of Character): Represents the first sign of a potential trend reversal.
  • iBOS/iCHoCH: Internal structures that highlight short-term momentum shifts and early entries within a larger timeframe trend.

Fibonacci Golden Zone

The oscillator emphasizes the "Golden Zone," typically defined as the area between the 50% and 61.8% retracement levels. Traders often look for price reactions in this zone for high-probability entries.

Premium, Discount, and Equilibrium

The range is divided into three primary zones:

  • Premium Zone (Above 78.6%): Used to identify overextended bullish moves and potential shorting opportunities.
  • Equilibrium (50%): The midpoint of the range representing fair value.
  • Discount Zone (Below 38.2%): Used to identify overextended bearish moves and potential buying opportunities.

Details

The oscillator normalizes price data by calculating the relative position of the current price between the most recent swing high and low. This creates a 0-100 scale where 50 is the midpoint. It incorporates a Signal Line (EMA) and a Momentum Line to assist in trend confirmation and crossover signals. The tool is versatile across timeframes; while effective for day trading (15M-1H), its reliability increases on higher timeframes like the 4-Hour or Daily charts where market structure is more significant.

FAQ

How do I use the Golden Zone for entries?

Traders typically look for the oscillator to enter the Golden Zone (50-61.8) and wait for a confirmation signal, such as a Signal Line crossover or a CHoCH, before entering a trade.

What is the difference between BOS and CHoCH?

A BOS (Break of Structure) indicates trend continuation, while a CHoCH (Change of Character) indicates the potential beginning of a trend reversal.
