The TrendScope EMA Dashboard indicator is an advanced multi-timeframe trend analysis system designed to help traders identify market direction and state using a layered exponential moving average structure. It simplifies trend identification by classifying the market into bullish, bearish, or sideways phases across multiple timeframes simultaneously.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to analyze market structure. Traders can use the color-coded EMAs and candles to quickly identify the current trend state:

  • Strong Uptrend: When the 9, 21, 50, and 200 EMAs are perfectly stacked in ascending order.
  • Strong Downtrend: When the EMAs are stacked in descending order (Fast below Medium below Slow below Long).
  • Sideways/Consolidation: When the EMA alignment is broken or mixed, indicating a lack of clear momentum.

Examples of usage include:

  • Trend Filtering: Only looking for long opportunities when the dashboard confirms a bullish bias on higher timeframes (e.g., 4H or 1D).
  • Entry Timing: Utilizing the "BUY" and "SELL" labels which trigger during trend transitions, such as moving from a sideways phase into a new trend.
  • Volatility Awareness: Monitoring the volume-based background intensity to gauge market pressure during active trends.

Details

This tool is built on a four-layer EMA engine (9, 21, 50, 200) to provide a comprehensive view of trend hierarchy. By incorporating multi-timeframe (MTF) logic via request.security, the script allows for the comparison of short-term price action against long-term market structure. The system assumes that higher timeframe trends carry more weight and that transitions in EMA alignment represent high-probability shifts in market sentiment.

Settings

FAQ

How do I interpret the "SIDE" label on the dashboard?

The "SIDE" label indicates that the EMAs are not currently aligned in a trending order, suggesting the market is in a consolidation or indecision phase.

Can I use this for scalping?

Yes, you can adjust the EMA lengths to shorter periods or focus on the lower timeframe rows (1m, 5m, 15m) within the dashboard to identify short-term momentum.
