Purra Buy Sell Signals
Jan 9, 2026

The Purra Buy Sell Signals tool provides precision-tuned entry and exit signals by combining a multi-stage EMA cascade trend filter with ATR-based trailing stop logic.
Usage
The indicator is primarily designed for high-liquidity assets like XAU/USD on the 5-minute timeframe. Users can identify potential trade opportunities through the following signals:
- Buy Signals: A green "Buy" label appears below the price bar, indicating strong bullish momentum.
- Sell Signals: A red "Sell" label appears above the price bar, indicating strong bearish momentum.
- Trend Ribbon/Line: The background ribbon or central line changes color to represent the underlying trend direction (green for bullish, red for bearish). It is recommended to align signal entries with the current color of the trend filter for higher conviction.
For risk management, the tool can be used to set tight stop-losses just beyond recent swing points, aiming for favorable risk-reward ratios during active sessions such as the London and Asian overlap.
Details
The script utilizes two main components for its logic:
- PMI_LA Smoothing: A complex calculation involving a multi-stage EMA cascade with adaptive smoothing constants (C1-C5). This creates a responsive trend line (bfr) that filters out market noise.
- BSI (Buy Sell Indicator) Logic: This uses an ATR-based trailing stop calculation. When the price (or Heikin Ashi price, if enabled) crosses this trailing stop, it triggers the "Buy" or "Sell" labels.
The combination of these two systems ensures that signals are only generated when a momentum shift is confirmed by both the price relative to the trailing stop and the underlying smoothed trend.
Settings
- PMI_LA Smoothing Period: Adjusts the period for the adaptive smoothing calculation.
- PMI_LA Constant D: A coefficient used in the cascade calculation to affect sensitivity.
- PMI_LA Color Bars: Enables or disables coloring the price bars based on the trend.
- PMI_LA Ribbon Mode: Toggles between a central trend line and a background ribbon.
- BSI Multiplier: Sets the multiplier for the ATR-based trailing stop; higher values result in wider stops and fewer signals.
- BSI ATR Period: Defines the lookback period for the Average True Range calculation.
- BSI Heikin Ashi Candles: When enabled, the signal logic is calculated based on Heikin Ashi price data rather than standard candle close.
