The Support & Resistance External/Internal & BoS indicator is a comprehensive market structure analysis tool that identifies multi-layered support and resistance levels alongside real-time Break of Structure (BoS) signals. It dynamically adapts to any timeframe and asset, providing traders with precise institutional levels, session boundaries, and pivot-based price action insights.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to navigate market trends and identify liquidity zones.

Market Structure Analysis

The indicator automatically plots two distinct layers of market structure:

  • External S&R: These represent major swing points (Higher Highs/Lower Lows) and define the primary trend. They are plotted with thicker lines and indicate significant reversal zones.
  • Internal S&R: These identify shorter-term price movements within the broader external range, highlighting minor corrections and intraday interest areas.

Break of Structure (BoS)

When price breaches a confirmed support or resistance level, the indicator triggers a BoS label:

  • BoS (Red): Occurs when an External level is broken, suggesting a potential primary trend reversal or strong continuation.
  • iBoS (Green): Occurs when an Internal level is broken, indicating a shift in short-term momentum.

Session & Institutional Levels

The tool provides critical context by plotting:

  • Pre-Market High/Low: Essential for identifying opening ranges and potential intraday breakout points.
  • Previous Day High/Low/Close: Standard institutional benchmarks for daily price action.
  • 52-Week High/Low: Long-term boundaries for identifying major market extremes.

Details

The script utilizes a dual-layered pivot detection algorithm with zero-lag capabilities. It monitors "Early Pivots" (unconfirmed structures) using dashed lines before they are fully validated by the required bar counts. The implementation uses coordinate memory-shift technology to ensure labels and lines sync instantly in the right margin without visual lag. For session levels, it includes a pre-market adjustment logic to maintain accuracy during extended trading hours.

Settings

FAQ

How do I use this to find entry points? Traders often look for price to reject External Support/Resistance for reversals or wait for a confirmed BoS/iBoS label to enter in the direction of the breakout.

Why are some lines dashed? Dashed lines represent "Early" or unconfirmed pivots. These levels are forming in real-time but have not yet met the full bar-count confirmation criteria.

How can I access the Support & Resistance External/Internal & BoS indicator? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
