The calculations for the "Swiss Army Knife" filters are based on John Ehlers' technical papers and his book, Cybernetics Analysis for Stock and Futures. The bands are calculated using a smoothed True Range, providing a volatility-adjusted envelope around the chosen mean.

Settings

MRC Parameters

  • Price Source: Determines the price data used for calculations (default is HLC3).
  • Filter Type: Selects the mathematical model for the mean (SuperSmoother, Ehlers EMA, Gaussian, Butterworth, BandStop, SMA, EMA, RMA).
  • Lookback Period: Sets the number of bars used for the mean calculation.
  • Inner Channel Size Multiplier: Adjusts the width of the dynamic support/resistance bands.
  • Outer Channel Size Multiplier: Adjusts the width of the overbought/oversold bands.
