Rob Booker Reversal Tabs Strategy
Nov 25, 2022

The Rob Booker Reversal Tabs Strategy tool identifies potential market reversals by combining MACD crossovers with Stochastic RSI levels to provide actionable long and short signals.
Usage
The tool can be utilized as both a visual indicator and a backtesting strategy. When "Strategy Mode" is enabled, the script will simulate trades based on the reversal logic, allowing for up to 5 pyramiding orders by default. When disabled, the script plots visual shapes on the chart to signify potential entry points.
Traders should look for:
- Bullish Reversal: Occurs when the MACD line crosses above zero while the Stochastic %K value is below the defined oversold level (default 30).
- Bearish Reversal: Occurs when the MACD line crosses below zero while the Stochastic %K value is above the defined overbought level (default 70).
As this tool focuses on reversal patterns, it is recommended to use it in conjunction with overall price action analysis and trend strength indicators to filter signals in strongly trending markets.
Details
The script executes logic based on the interaction between momentum and overextended price levels. It calculates a standard MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) and a Full Stochastic derived from the specified period. The primary logic requires a momentum shift (MACD crossing the zero line) to align with an extreme oscillator reading (Stochastic OB/OS). This ensures that signals are only generated when a trend change coincides with a prior overextended state.
Settings
- Strategy Mode: Toggles between backtesting strategy execution and visual indicator plotting.
- MACD Fast/Slow/Signal Period: Adjusts the EMA lengths used for the MACD calculation.
- Stochastic RSI Period: Sets the lookback period for the Stochastic calculation.
- %K Period: Determines the smoothing for the Stochastic %K line.
- %D Period: Determines the smoothing for the Stochastic %D line.
- Stochastic Overbought/Oversold Level: Sets the threshold levels (default 70/30) used to qualify reversal signals.
FAQ
How do I access the Rob Booker Reversal Tabs Strategy?
You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.

Yes, the script includes built-in alert conditions for both Buy and Sell reversal signals that can be configured through the TradingView alerts menu.
