Super Auto Breakout Day Trade Volatile stocks
Dec 23, 2021

The Super Auto Breakout Day Trade Volatile stocks indicator is a specialized momentum and volatility-based tool designed to capture explosive breakouts in high-volatility stocks during active market sessions. It utilizes a combination of Volume Flow Index (VFI), exponential moving average differentials, and dynamic price bands to identify entry points with a high risk-to-reward profile.
Usage
The tool is primarily designed for day trading volatile assets where significant percentage moves are common. It incorporates a pre-market tracking mechanism to establish high and low ranges before the main trade session begins.
A long position is triggered when several momentum conditions align:
- The price closes above the upper dynamic band or experiences a significant single-bar surge (over 4%).
- The Volume Flow Index (VFI) is positive and trending upward.
- The entry occurs within the designated trade session.
The exit logic is automated based on specific technical thresholds or fixed targets:
- Take Profit: The strategy aims to close at approximately a 10% gain.
- Stop Loss: The strategy triggers a sell if the price drops roughly 2.8% below the average entry (calculated as a fixed point offset in the logic) or if the VFI turns significantly negative (below -3).
- Trend Exhaustion: A close below the lower dynamic band or a sharp 6% drop from the open will also trigger an exit.
Details
The script integrates several technical concepts to filter out low-probability trades:
- Volume Flow Index (VFI): Based on LazyBear's implementation, it assesses whether volume is flowing into or out of the asset, filtered by a maximum volume cutoff to prevent outliers from skewing the data.
- Dynamic Bands: Unlike standard Bollinger Bands, these bands use fixed percentage offsets from a 20-period Simple Moving Average, which adjust based on the price level (e.g., assets priced over 19.9 utilize different offsets).
- EMA Differential: The script calculates the percentage difference between a 20-period and 50-period EMA to gauge trend strength.
- Session Filtering: It specifically tracks the "Pre-Session" to establish daily boundaries and restricts entries to the "Trade Session" to avoid low-liquidity gaps.
Settings
Inputs
- VFI length: Sets the lookback period for the Volume Flow Index calculation.
- coef: Coefficient used for the VFI cutoff calculation.
- Max. vol. cutoff: Limits the influence of extreme volume spikes in the VFI calculation.
- signalLength: The length of the EMA applied to the VFI signal.
- Pre-Session: Defines the time range for pre-market price tracking.
- Trade Session: Defines the active window where new long entries are permitted.
FAQ
How do I interpret the bar colors?
The bars are color-coded based on their position relative to the bands and the basis. Green indicates the price is above the upper band or basis (bullish momentum), blue indicates the price is below the lower band (oversold/potential reversal), and red indicates bearish positioning.
What type of stocks is this best for?
This script is optimized for highly volatile, lower-cap stocks. It is generally not recommended for mega-cap stocks, as their daily percentage movements are often insufficient to reach the strategy's 10% target.
