The Scalping Strategy indicator is a technical trading tool designed to identify and execute high-frequency trades in volatile markets by combining pivot point dynamics with dual exponential moving average (EMA) filters. It aims to capture rapid price movements by detecting breakouts from established support and resistance zones while ensuring alignment with the prevailing market trend.

Usage

The strategy is primarily intended for short timeframes (e.g., 1m to 5m) during periods of high liquidity. It identifies entries by looking for price breakouts above or below specific pivot-based lines that are drawn when the market is in a confirmed trend.

  • Long Positions: Initiated when the 25-period EMA is above the 100-period EMA and price breaks above a downward-sloping resistance line formed by recent pivot highs.
  • Short Positions: Initiated when the 25-period EMA is below the 100-period EMA and price breaks below an upward-sloping support line formed by recent pivot lows.
  • Session Trading: The tool includes a built-in session filter to restrict trading to specific hours, typically used to focus on volatile market opens or high-activity windows.

Details

The strategy employs a dual-EMA system to define the trend: a 100-period EMA for the long-term trend and a 25-period EMA for the short-term trend. The relationship between these two averages determines the "bias."

When the bias is bullish, the script tracks pivot highs. If a new pivot high is lower than the previous one, a resistance line is projected. A buy signal is triggered when the price closes above this line. Conversely, in a bearish bias, the script tracks pivot lows, projecting a support line when a new pivot low is higher than the previous one, triggering a sell signal on a close below that line.

Settings

  • Pivot: Sets the lookback period used to identify pivot highs and lows.

  • Sesion de scalping: A time-based filter that limits when the strategy can generate entry signals.
  • Activar compras/ventas: Toggle switches to enable or disable long and short directions independently.

What happens to the resistance/support lines when the trend changes? Whenever a crossover or crossunder occurs between the 25 EMA and 100 EMA, all existing pivot lines are reset to ensure the strategy adapts to the new trend direction.
