The CBMA Bollinger Bands Strategy directed indicator provides a mean-reversion trading framework that utilizes the CB Moving Average to identify potential entry points when price returns inside standard deviation bands.

Usage

The strategy is designed to capture reversals after price has moved outside of the volatility bands. When the price is trending downward and moves outside the lower band, a buy signal is generated once the price crosses back above the lower band into the channel. Conversely, when the price is trending upward and moves outside the upper band, a sell signal is triggered when the price crosses back below the upper band into the channel.

Users can toggle between a standard Simple Moving Average (SMA) basis or the specialized CBMA basis to adjust how the bands respond to price volatility and trends.

Details

The script combines two primary concepts: volatility bands (Bollinger Bands) and the CB Moving Average (CBMA). The CBMA is a hybrid calculation involving an Exponential Moving Average (EMA) with a gain limit adjustment and a Hull Moving Average (HMA). This combination aims to provide a smoother yet more responsive baseline compared to traditional moving averages.

By default, the strategy employs pyramiding, allowing for multiple entries in the same direction to scale into positions.
