The RSI Radar Multi Time Frame indicator provides a comprehensive visual summary of RSI values across six different timeframes simultaneously on a single chart. This tool leverages polylines to create a "radar" display that dynamically adjusts to the visible chart area, allowing traders to monitor momentum across multiple periodicities without switching tabs.

Usage

The RSI Radar Multi Time Frame indicator is designed for multi-timeframe analysis and can be used in several ways:

  • Momentum Correlation: Identify when multiple timeframes are in agreement (e.g., all RSI values above 50 or below 50) to confirm a trend.
  • Overbought/Oversold Identification: The radar display features shaded regions representing standard 70 (Overbought) and 30 (Oversold) thresholds. When the RSI line expands toward the outer edges, it indicates overbought conditions across those specific timeframes.
  • Visual Monitoring: Because the radar uses the visible bar range, it remains fixed in your field of view even when zooming or scrolling, making it ideal for continuous monitoring during active trading sessions.
  • Customization: Users can toggle between a "Curved" polyline for a smoother look or a "Hexagon" style for more geometric precision.

Details

The script utilizes the polyline feature to draw the radar shape directly on the price chart. It calculates the RSI (length 14) for six user-defined timeframes. The positioning of the radar is relative to the chart.left_visible_bar_time and chart.right_visible_bar_time, ensuring the graphic stays centered in the workspace.

For each timeframe, the script fetches data using request.security. If a timeframe is set to be lower than the chart timeframe, it uses request.security_lower_tf to ensure accurate data retrieval. The radar points are then mapped based on the RSI value (0-100) relative to the center of the radar.

Settings

Timeframes

  • Timeframe 1-6: Sets the specific periods to be calculated and displayed on the radar. Leaving a field empty will default to the current chart timeframe.

Visuals

  • RSI line: Select the color and thickness of the main RSI radar line.
  • Curved: Toggle between a smooth curved line or a straight-edged hexagon.
  • OB/OS Colors: Customize the background fill colors for the Overbought (>70) and Oversold (<30) regions.
  • Labels: Toggle the visibility of the timeframe and exact RSI value labels at the radar vertices.
  • Circles: Toggle small circle markers at each timeframe's specific RSI coordinate.

FAQ

How do I interpret the radar shape?

The further a point is from the center, the higher the RSI value for that timeframe. If the shape is pushed toward the outer red zone, that timeframe is overbought; if it is collapsed toward the inner green zone, it is oversold.

Can I use timeframes lower than my current chart?

Yes, the script is designed to handle both higher and lower timeframes relative to your current chart view.
