The Nubia - Auto Midas Anchored VWAP indicator automatically identifies significant market highs and lows across four distinct lookback periods to plot dynamic Anchored Volume Weighted Average Prices (AVWAP).

Usage

The indicator is designed to help traders identify trend exhaustion, support/resistance levels, and periods of consolidation. By anchoring VWAPs to historical peaks and troughs, it provides a "Midas" touch approach to volume-weighted analysis.

  • Trend Identification: A strong trend is typically present when the price stays above or below all four fractal levels without significant resistance from the opposing AVWAPs.
  • Consolidation & Pullbacks: When the price trades between different AVWAP levels, it often indicates a period of consolidation or a pullback within a larger trend.
  • Targeting: Traders can use the larger timeframe AVWAPs (higher length settings) as potential targets or major support/resistance zones during extended moves.

Details

The tool utilizes four distinct lookback periods inspired by Bill Williams' Phicube fractals (defaulting to 17, 72, 305, and 1292). For each period, the script identifies the highest and lowest points and anchors a VWAP calculation to those specific bars. This creates a total of 8 dynamic anchor points (4 tops and 4 bottoms).

The implementation features a visibility logic where levels are emphasized based on their proximity to current price action, helping to reduce chart clutter while maintaining the relevance of long-term volume-weighted levels.

Settings

  • Always show: When enabled, the indicator will display all AVWAP levels regardless of their distance from the current price. If disabled, it only shows the most relevant levels to keep the chart clean.
  • #1 Length: Sets the lookback period for the first (smallest) fractal pair. Default is 17.
  • #2 Length: Sets the lookback period for the second fractal pair. Default is 72.
  • #3 Length: Sets the lookback period for the third fractal pair. Default is 305.
  • #4 Length: Sets the lookback period for the fourth (largest) fractal pair. Default is 1292.

FAQ

How do I use the different colored lines?

Green lines represent AVWAPs anchored to historical lows (potential support), while red lines represent AVWAPs anchored to historical highs (potential resistance).

What does it mean when the lines are faded?

Faded lines appear when the "Always show" setting is on, but the price has moved significantly beyond those specific levels, indicating they are currently less active but still relevant for long-term context.
