The ICT Time Ranges indicator highlights specific market sessions and liquidity windows to help traders identify periods of increased volatility and institutional activity throughout the trading day.

Usage

The script is used to visualize key trading periods based on Inner Circle Trader (ICT) concepts. By highlighting these ranges with background colors, traders can easily identify "Killzones" and high-probability time pockets.

The indicator includes several predefined sessions:

  • Asian Session: Often used to identify initial daily ranges.
  • London Session: Key for identifying the daily high or low in many trend scenarios.
  • New York Session: High volatility window following the US market open.
  • London Close: Captures potential reversals or profit-taking at the end of the European session.
  • IPDA True Day: Marks the primary 15-hour window defined by ICT methodology.
  • CBDR (Central Bank Dealers Range): Useful for determining potential daily projections.

Additionally, Day of Week (DOW) markers appear at the 00:00 start of each day to help orient the trader within the weekly cycle.

Details

The indicator utilizes background coloring (bgcolor) to delineate time ranges rather than horizontal price levels, reducing chart clutter while maintaining situational awareness. It accounts for intraday timeframes and includes specific logic to handle daily, weekly, or monthly chart views by adjusting the minute-precision of the markers. The script also includes built-in alerts for the start of the Asian, London, and New York sessions, allowing traders to stay informed even when not actively watching the chart.
