The Smart Grid Scalping (Pullback) Strategy tool is a high-frequency trading system designed to capitalize on market retracements using a dynamic ATR-based grid and RSI confirmation. It aims to identify optimal entry points during pullbacks by ensuring price has reached specific volatility-adjusted levels while filtering out low-momentum environments.

Usage

The strategy is optimized for short-term scalping and functions by plotting a series of dynamic grid levels based on recent market volatility. Traders can use these levels to visualize potential reversal zones.

  • Long Entries: Triggered when the price drops below a specific lower grid level (defined by the Long Trigger Level), provided the RSI is in an oversold state and market volatility exceeds the "No-Trade Zone" threshold.
  • Short Entries: Triggered when the price rises above a specific upper grid level (defined by the Short Trigger Level), provided the RSI is in an overbought state and sufficient volatility is present.
  • Trade Management: The script automatically manages exits using a percentage-based profit target and an adaptive trailing stop-loss that utilizes ATR to protect gains during trending movements.

Details

The strategy employs a 10-period Average True Range (ATR) to calculate the spacing of the grid levels. By using a historical reference price (20 bars back) as the base for the grid, it creates a wider, more robust framework for capturing significant pullbacks. The "No-Trade Zone" filter acts as a volatility threshold, preventing entries during stagnant price action where scalping is less effective.

Settings

Grid Configuration

  • ATR Length: The lookback period used for ATR calculations to determine market volatility.
  • Grid Factor: A multiplier that controls the vertical spacing between individual grid levels.
  • Short Trigger Level: Determines which upper grid line (0–14) must be breached to trigger a short entry.
  • Long Trigger Level: Determines which lower grid line (0–14) must be breached to trigger a long entry.

Entry Filters

  • No-Trade Zone (%): The minimum percentage range required between a bar's high and low to permit an entry, filtering out low-volatility periods.
  • Min RSI for Short: The overbought threshold required to confirm a short signal.
  • Max RSI for Long: The oversold threshold required to confirm a long signal.

Exit Management

  • Profit Target: The percentage gain at which the strategy will attempt to close the position for a profit.
