The Quant VWAP System: Regime, Magnets & Z-Score indicator is a comprehensive quantitative tool designed to define market regimes, identify institutional value zones, and project high-probability liquidity targets using statistical probability and volume-weighted averages.

Usage

This system is primarily used for identifying market states—trending, ranging, or squeezing—and finding precise entries based on statistical deviations.

  • Trend Pullbacks: In a bullish trend (indicated by the dashboard and VWAP slope), traders look for price to pull back into the "Trend Zone" (Inner Band / 1.0 SD). A hold at these levels suggests a high-probability trend continuation toward the next liquidity magnet.
  • Mean Reversion: When the price reaches the "Reversion Zone" (Outer Band / 2.0 SD), it is considered at a statistical extreme. Traders can use the "FADE EXT" signal on the dashboard to anticipate a return to the central VWAP.
  • Liquidity Magnets: The blue dashed lines represent unvisited VWAP levels from previous sessions. These act as "open loops" that price often gravitates toward, making them ideal take-profit targets.
  • Breakout Preparation: When the dashboard displays a "SQUEEZE" status, volatility is low and bands are compressed. This warns traders to avoid mean-reversion strategies and prepare for an explosive breakout.

Details

The script anchors a VWAP to a user-selected timeframe (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) and calculates Standard Deviation bands based on market variance. Unlike standard static support levels, these bands adapt dynamically to current market volatility.

The "Magnets" feature tracks historical VWAP levels that have not been re-tested. To maintain chart clarity, a "Ghost Engine" automatically hides magnets that are beyond a specific percentage range from the current price, preventing the price action from becoming compressed or "scrunched" on the Y-axis.

Settings

Core Strategy

  • Session Anchor: Determines the timeframe for VWAP calculation (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly).
  • Price Source: Selects the price data used for the VWAP (default is HLC3).
  • Trend Zone (Inner Band SD): Sets the multiplier for the inner trend-following bands.
  • Reversion Zone (Outer Band SD): Sets the multiplier for the outer mean-reversion bands.

Visual Intelligence

  • Show Magnets: Toggles the display of unvisited historical VWAP levels.
  • Magnet Focus Range (%): Controls the sensitivity of the "Ghost Engine" to hide distant magnets and maintain chart scaling.
  • Show Line Labels: Toggles floating labels on the right axis that identify deviation levels.
  • Dashboard Settings: Options to toggle, resize, and reposition the real-time "Quant Matrix" HUD.

Day Separators

  • Show Day Separators: Displays vertical dotted lines with date stamps to clearly distinguish between trading sessions.

FAQ

How do I interpret the Quant Matrix dashboard? The dashboard provides a real-time summary of the market regime (Squeeze vs. Expansion), the current trend bias (Bullish vs. Bearish), and actionable signals like "BUY DIP" or "FADE EXT."

What is a Volatility Squeeze in this system? A squeeze occurs when the bandwidth of the VWAP deviations falls below its 50-period average, signaling a period of consolidation that often precedes a large directional move.
