[CP]3 RSI Multi Timeframe Inception
Aug 27, 2020

The [CP]3 RSI Multi Timeframe Inception indicator provides a comprehensive view of market momentum by overlaying three Relative Strength Index (RSI) oscillators from different timeframes onto a single pane. This allows traders to identify high-probability trade setups by observing momentum confluence across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
Usage
The Usage section focuses on how to interpret the alignment of the three RSI lines. When all three RSI lines are above the 50 level, it suggests strong bullish momentum across multiple timeframes. Conversely, when all three are below 50, it indicates consistent bearish momentum.
Common timeframe configurations include:
- Intraday: 3-minute, 15-minute, and 1-hour.
- Swing Trading: 1-hour, 4-hour, and 1-day.
- Long-term Investing: 1-day, 1-week, and 1-month.
Traders can look for crossovers where a shorter-term RSI crosses a longer-term RSI, or use the 50-level midline as a confirmation point for trend entries.
Details
This script utilizes the request.security function to fetch RSI data from external timeframes. It offers two data processing modes for each RSI:
- Rough Mode: Uses standard security calls with gaps off, which provides immediate updates but may result in "staircase" visual effects.
- Smooth Mode: Uses gaps on to create a more fluid visual representation of higher timeframe data on lower timeframe charts.
The script also includes built-in alert conditions for RSI 50-level crosses and crossovers between different RSI components to assist in real-time monitoring.

FAQ
How do I access [CP]3 RSI Multi Timeframe Inception?
You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
Can I use different lengths for each RSI?
Yes, each of the three RSI components has independent length settings, allowing you to compare a fast RSI (e.g., 7-period) with a slow RSI (e.g., 14 or 21-period) across different timeframes.
Why does the RSI line look like a staircase?
This occurs when "Smooth RSI" is disabled. The indicator is plotting a single value from a higher timeframe across multiple bars of the current lower timeframe. Enabling "Smooth RSI" will bridge these gaps for a cleaner look.
