The Predictive Order Blocks indicator identifies dynamic support and resistance zones using standard deviations from a median line to highlight areas of market interest during volatility transitions. By focusing on statistical ranges rather than single price points, the tool provides a clearer representation of market structure during periods of consolidation and expansion.

Usage

The indicator can be used to identify potential breakout zones and retracement levels. Traders can observe the standard deviation bands to gauge market volatility; when bands compress (squeeze), it indicates a period of consolidation. Upon expansion, the indicator dynamically draws "Predictive Order Blocks" based on the selected standard deviation range. These blocks serve as high-probability zones where price may retrace or react after a breakout.

Details

The script functions by calculating a median line over a user-defined period, serving as the baseline for volatility measurements. Around this median, multiple standard deviation bands (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) are calculated. The tool monitors the "bandwidth" between these levels; a consistent decrease in bandwidth triggers a squeeze state. When volatility returns and the bandwidth increases, the script projects a box (Order Block) at the specific standard deviation level where the breakout occurred.

Settings

Term Length

  • Term Length: Selects the lookback period for the analysis. Options include Short (25 periods), Medium (50 periods), and Long (100 periods).

Order Blocks

  • Order Block Range: Determines which standard deviation level is used to draw the breakout boxes (Standard Deviation 1, 2, or 3).

Display Options

  • Show Trend Line: Toggles the visibility of the central median line.
  • Show Bands: Toggles the visibility of the standard deviation bands.
  • Show Background Color: Enables background shading that shifts based on band proximity and volatility.

Candle Colours

  • Neutral: If enabled, applies a custom color scheme to candles (gray for bearish, foreground color for bullish) to reduce visual noise.

FAQ

How do I access Predictive Order Blocks?

You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.

What do the different colors on the bands signify?

The indicator uses proximity-based gradient colors. As price moves closer to a specific standard deviation band, the color intensity changes, allowing you to visually assess the potential significance of that support or resistance area.

Can I set alerts for when a block is formed?

Yes, the script includes built-in alert conditions for new order block formations, the start of volatility squeezes, and price crosses over the trend line or specific standard deviation bands.
