ICT HTF FVGs
Sep 17, 2023

The ICT HTF FVGs indicator displays higher timeframe Fair Value Gaps (FVGs) directly on your current chart. This tool aims to help traders visualize multi-timeframe points of interest and liquidity gaps without manual marking, facilitating easier identification of potential price reversals or reactions at HTF levels.
Usage
The script automatically plots bullish and bearish FVGs from specified higher timeframes. It can be used to identify institutional "footprints" on the chart that may act as magnets or support/resistance zones.
- Multi-Timeframe Visualization: View up to six different timeframes simultaneously to identify nested zones.
- Mitigation Tracking: The script can track whether an FVG has been filled (mitigated) based on custom criteria like "Wick filled" or "Body filled."
- Clean Chart Management: Use the "Distance from current candle" setting to shift labels and box endings, preventing overlap with current price action.
- Lower Timeframe Filtering: The "Hide Lower Timeframes" option ensures that lower timeframe gaps do not clutter the view when you move to a higher timeframe chart.
Details
The indicator calculates Fair Value Gaps by identifying a three-candle sequence where a gap exists between the first candle's wick and the third candle's wick.
- Consequent Encroachment (C.E.): This represents the 50% midpoint of the FVG, which is often considered a high-probability reaction level within the gap.
- Mitigation Logic: Unlike standard FVG tools, this script allows you to define exactly when a gap is considered invalidated, such as when price closes past the midpoint or fully fills the gap with a candle body.
Settings

FAQ
How do I access ICT HTF FVGs?
You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
Why are some FVGs not showing up?
Check the "Hide Lower Timeframes" setting. If you are on a 1-hour chart and have the indicator set to show 15-minute FVGs with this setting enabled, they will be hidden to keep the chart clean.
What does "Consequent Encroachment" mean?
In ICT methodology, Consequent Encroachment refers to the 50% level of a shadow (wick) or a gap (FVG). Price often reacts at this equilibrium point.
