Consolidation Engine Squeeze Detection Breakout Signals
Mar 29, 2026

The Consolidation Engine indicator identifies low-volatility compression zones and tracks real-time range boundaries to deliver high-probability breakout and retest signals. It utilizes a proprietary 5-factor scoring system to validate market compression and momentum, helping traders capture explosive moves after periods of market calm.
Usage
The indicator provides a visual framework for navigating sideways markets. When the 5-factor score exceeds the user-defined threshold, a shaded consolidation box appears. Traders can use these boxes to identify range boundaries (High/Low) and anticipate breakouts.
- Breakout Entry: Enter when a primary breakout label (▲ or ▼) appears, indicating price has closed beyond the range with sufficient momentum and confidence.
- Retest Entry: For a more conservative approach, wait for the "RETEST" label, which fires when price pulls back to the previous range boundary and holds as new support/resistance.
- Exit Strategy: Use the automated exit markers (✕) to manage trades. These markers indicate trailing stop hits, failed breakouts (re-entering the range), or trend reversals.
Details
The script is built around two core engines:
- 5-Factor Consolidation Score: This composite metric evaluates ATR Percentile, Bollinger Band Width, TTM Squeeze state, Linear Regression Slope, and ADX. A high score confirms true market compression rather than simple sideways noise.
- Multi-Confluence Confidence Scoring: Breakout signals are assigned a confidence percentage (0-100%) based on squeeze quality, duration, volume confirmation, momentum alignment (RSI/MACD/EMA), and candle body quality.
The tool also tracks Volume Bias, analyzing whether accumulation or distribution is occurring within the range to help predict the likely breakout direction.
Settings
Consolidation Detection
- ATR / BB / KC Periods: Core lengths for volatility calculations.
- Squeeze Percentile: The threshold defining "low volatility" relative to historical data.
- Min Consolidation Bars: The minimum duration required to confirm a valid range.
- LR Slope Threshold: Sensitivity for detecting flat, non-directional price action.
Breakout Settings
- Breakout ATR Threshold: The distance price must close beyond the range to trigger a signal.
- Min Breakout Confidence %: Filters signals based on the confluence scoring engine (default 35%).
- Retest Window: The number of bars the system looks for a pullback after a breakout.
Exits & Appearance
- Trailing Stop ATR Multiple: Sets the distance for the dynamic trailing stop line.
- Dashboard Settings: Toggles for visual metrics including Consol Score, Vol Bias, and Trade Status.
FAQ
How do I interpret the Consolidation Score? A score above 50 indicates active compression. Scores above 80 indicate an "Extreme Squeeze," often leading to higher-velocity breakouts.
Why did a breakout occur without a label? The signal may have been filtered out by the "Min Breakout Confidence %" or the "Breakout Volume Ratio" settings to prevent low-probability entries.
How can I access the Consolidation Engine? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
