itrade buy/sell
Jul 19, 2022

The itrade buy/sell indicator is a multi-layered signal tool designed to identify market reversals by analyzing overbought and oversold conditions through a combination of momentum and volatility filters. It leverages concepts from the Relative Strength Index (RSI), Exponential Moving Averages (EMA), and QQE-based trailing bands to pinpoint high-probability entry points.
Usage
The tool displays "Лонг" (Long) and "Шорт" (Short) labels on the chart to signify potential trend reversals.
- Long Signals: Occur when price momentum shifts upward after crossing the trailing volatility bands, indicating an exit from an oversold state.
- Short Signals: Occur when price momentum shifts downward after crossing the bands, indicating an exit from an overbought state.
While the indicator can be used on any timeframe, it is optimized for higher timeframes such as the 4h, daily, or weekly charts. Users on lower timeframes should be aware of increased market noise and potential false signals.
Details
The script functions by first calculating a smoothed RSI and then applying a volatility-based band (derived from a Wilder’s-style ATR of the RSI itself). This creates a dynamic threshold that adapts to the current momentum. The indicator specifically looks for "crosses" between the smoothed RSI and these trailing bands (XLL factors). When the RSI crosses above the lower band, a bullish trend is identified; when it crosses below the upper band, a bearish trend is identified.
Settings
Inputs
- RSI Length: Determines the lookback period for the initial Relative Strength Index calculation.
- RSI Smoothing: Sets the length of the EMA used to smooth the RSI values.
- Fast XLL Factor: A multiplier that adjusts the width of the trailing volatility bands; higher values make the signals more selective.
- Thresh-hold: A secondary parameter used to refine signal detection sensitivity.
