Change in State of Delivery CISD
Nov 22, 2025

The Change in State of Delivery CISD indicator tracks shifts in market intent by identifying failed price pushes followed by strong reversals in delivery. It provides a visual map of institutional shifts by combining swing structure, liquidity sweeps, and a counter-move tolerance ratio.
Usage
The script is designed to be used on any timeframe where swing behavior and liquidity interactions are relevant.
- Identifying Intent: Origin lines (drawn as horizontal lines) mark the starting point of a Change in State of Delivery. A green line indicates bullish intent, while a red line signals bearish intent.
- Strong Signals: Upward triangles (▲) and downward triangles (▼) appear when a CISD forms immediately after liquidity is swept within the user-defined lookback period. These markers highlight high-probability areas where a trend reversal or strong continuation is likely.
- Visual Structure: Small dots mark recent swing highs and lows, which act as potential liquidity targets. Candle colors automatically update to reflect the sentiment of the most recent CISD.
Details
The indicator operates by first defining market structure through pivot-based swing highs and lows. When price wicks through these levels, a mitigation event is registered. The script then monitors for a counter-move sequence.
The core logic uses a Noise Filter ratio that compares the distance price expanded during a failed attempt versus the strength of the subsequent counter-move. If the counter-move exceeds the tolerance threshold, it validates a Change in State of Delivery. This ensures that the indicator only highlights significant shifts in intent rather than minor market noise.
Settings
Calculations
- Noise Filter: A decimal value (0-1) that determines the strictness of CISD detection. Higher values require stronger counter-moves, resulting in fewer but more reliable signals.
- Swing Period: Defines the lookback used to detect pivot points. Larger values identify longer-term structural swings.
- Expiry Bars: The number of bars after which liquidity levels stop updating or are removed from the chart.
- Liquidity Lookback: Sets how recently a swing level must have been wicked to trigger a "strong" CISD sweep marker.
Appearance
- Bullish/Bearish Colour: Customizes the colors for the origin lines, shapes, and candle themes.
- Candle Transparency: Adjusts the visibility of the trend-colored candle overlays.
- Hide Expired/Mitigated Levels: Options to clean up the chart by removing liquidity lines once they are either old or have been touched by price.
FAQ
How do I interpret the triangle symbols?
The triangle symbols represent "Strong CISD" events. These occur when price sweeps liquidity from a previous swing and then immediately validates a Change in State of Delivery, suggesting a powerful shift in market momentum.
What does the Noise Filter do?
The Noise Filter acts as a sensitivity threshold. A low setting will catch almost every minor shift, while a higher setting (e.g., 0.7 or 0.8) ensures that only the most decisive reversals are marked.
