MTF Trend + Crossover Alerts
May 20, 2025

The MTF Trend + Crossover Alerts indicator provides a comprehensive multi-timeframe dashboard and real-time crossover signals to help traders identify trend alignment across various horizons.
Usage
The tool can be used to gauge market sentiment at a glance and identify potential entry points based on moving average momentum.
- Multi-Timeframe Dashboard: Located at the bottom left of the chart, this table displays the current trend status (Bullish, Bearish, or Neutral) for the 1m, 5m, 15m, 30m, 1H, 4H, and 1D timeframes.
- Crossover Signals: On the active timeframe, the script plots "BUY" labels when the fast moving average crosses above the slow moving average, and "SELL" labels when the fast moving average crosses below the slow moving average.
- Trend Confirmation: Traders often look for alignment where the lower timeframe signals match the higher timeframe trends displayed in the dashboard for higher-probability setups.
Details
The indicator utilizes the request.security() function to fetch data from different timeframes to determine trend states. The trend logic is binary based on the relationship between two moving averages:
- Bullish: Fast Moving Average > Slow Moving Average.
- Bearish: Fast Moving Average < Slow Moving Average.
- Neutral: Both averages are equal.
The dashboard uses color-coded cells (Green for Bullish, Red for Bearish, and Blue for Neutral) and icons to ensure the information is easily digestible during fast-paced market conditions.
Settings
- Fast MA Period: Sets the lookback period for the faster moving average (default is 9).
- Slow MA Period: Sets the lookback period for the slower moving average (default is 21).
- MA Type: Allows the user to choose between an Exponential Moving Average (EMA) or a Simple Moving Average (SMA) for the calculations.
