The Full CRYPTO pack macd, rsi, obv, ema strategy indicator provides an all-in-one technical framework designed to identify trend-following opportunities by combining momentum, volume, and price action filters. It aims to streamline decision-making on higher timeframes for major crypto assets like BTC and ETH by validating trade setups through multiple technical layers.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify entry and exit points based on the confluence of four primary technical indicators. This strategy is optimized for the 4-hour timeframe but can be adjusted for different assets and intervals.

Long Entries

A long signal is generated when the following conditions align:

  • Price Action: The current candle is ascending (closing higher than the previous) and is trading above the Exponential Moving Average (EMA).
  • Trend: The EMA itself must be sloping upwards.
  • Momentum: The MACD Histogram crosses into a positive range (above 0).
  • Volatility/Filter: The RSI remains below the overbought threshold to ensure there is room for further upside.
  • Volume: The On-Balance Volume (OBV) is currently higher than its 10-period Simple Moving Average.

Short Entries

A short signal is generated when the opposite conditions are met:

  • Price Action: The current candle is descending and trading below the EMA.
  • Trend: The EMA is sloping downwards.
  • Momentum: The MACD Histogram crosses into a negative range (below 0).
  • Volatility/Filter: The RSI is above the oversold threshold.
  • Volume: The OBV is lower than its 10-period SMA.

Details

The script integrates four core concepts to filter out market noise:

  1. Trend Detection: Uses a configurable EMA and price position to determine the primary market direction.
  2. Momentum Confirmation: Employs the MACD Histogram to identify shifts in momentum, specifically looking for histogram crossovers.
  3. Volume Verification: Utilizes On-Balance Volume (OBV) relative to its moving average to confirm that price movements are supported by market participation.
  4. Heikin Ashi Option: Users can toggle Heikin Ashi calculations for the logic, which can help smooth out price action and reduce false signals in volatile crypto markets.

The strategy also includes a leverage simulator and risk management settings, allowing users to calculate position sizes based on a percentage of equity and a specified leverage factor.

Settings

General Settings

  • Use Heikin Ashi Candles in Algo Calculations: Toggles between standard candles and Heikin Ashi candles for the underlying signal logic.
  • Date Range (From/To): Filters the strategy execution to a specific historical window.

Indicator Parameters

  • Length: Sets the period for the main EMA used for trend detection.
  • Source: Defines the price source (e.g., HL2, Close) for the EMA and MACD.
  • MACD Settings (Fast/Slow/Signal Length): Adjusts the timing of the MACD momentum crossovers.
  • Simple MA (Oscillator/Signal): Toggles between SMA and EMA for the MACD calculation components.
  • RSI Length: Sets the lookback period for the Relative Strength Index.
  • Over Sold / Over Bought: Defines the RSI thresholds used to filter entries.

Strategy & Risk

  • Long/Short Entry: Enables or disables specific trade directions.
  • Risk: The percentage of equity to risk per trade.
  • Leverage: A multiplier used to simulate leveraged positions.
