The CRT Signals indicator identifies liquidity sweeps and active CRT ranges across multiple timeframes to provide automated trade entries, stop loss levels, and profit targets.

Usage

The CRT Signals tool is used to identify market reversals and continuations following liquidity grabs. When price sweeps a previous high or low and returns within the prior candle structure, the script generates a signal.

  • Trade Signals: The indicator plots entry levels at the candle close, stop loss levels at the sweep extreme, and take profit levels at the range objective.
  • Multi-Timeframe (MTF) Panel: Users can monitor the latest active ranges for up to five timeframes (Default: Monthly, Weekly, Daily, 4H, 1H). The panel displays the range direction, size in pips, and the remaining distance to the target.
  • Active Range Visualization: The script can draw active MTF ranges directly on the chart, allowing traders to see higher-timeframe objectives while navigating lower-timeframe price action.
  • Filtering: The indicator includes a midpoint filter for signal validation and a session filter to restrict signals to specific trading hours.

Details

The indicator is based on the concept of Candle Range Theory (CRT), which focuses on the relationship between liquidity sweeps and price displacement.

  • Bullish CRT Range: Formed when price sweeps the low of one or more previous candles and then returns back inside the swept candle structure. The range is measured from the sweep low to the highest high of the swept candles.
  • Bearish CRT Range: Formed when price sweeps the high of one or more previous candles and then returns back inside the swept candle structure. The range is measured from the sweep high to the lowest low of the swept candles.
  • Logic Execution: A range remains active until price either hits the target objective or invalidates the setup by closing beyond the opposite side of the sweep.
  • Credits: The original concept and code were developed by @ijimmun, with refactoring and visual updates provided by LuxAlgo Quant Agent.

Settings

  • Lookback Liquidity: Sets the number of previous candles used to determine the liquidity levels (highs and lows).
  • Line Length (bars): Determines the horizontal length of the liquidity sweep lines on the chart.
  • Maximum RR: Caps the Take Profit level according to a user-defined maximum Risk-to-Reward ratio.
  • Maximum SL: Limits the Stop Loss distance from the entry to prevent excessively wide stops.
  • Midpoint Filter: An optional toggle to validate signals only when specific price action occurs relative to the range midpoint.
  • Session Filter: Allows users to define specific start and end times for signal detection.
  • MTF Timeframes: Dropdown menus to select the five timeframes tracked by the dashboard panel.
  • Show MTF Ranges: Toggles the visibility of higher-timeframe ranges on the current chart.

FAQ

How does the indicator define a liquidity sweep? A sweep occurs when the current price moves beyond the highest high or lowest low of the defined lookback period but fails to maintain that expansion, returning to close within the previous structure.

When is a trade signal invalidated? A signal is considered invalidated if the price closes beyond the stop loss level (the extreme of the sweep) before the take profit target is reached.
