The EURUSD 5min london session strategy tool identifies trend-following breakout opportunities by utilizing a dual moving average channel combined with RSI momentum filtering during peak liquidity hours.

Usage

The strategy is designed to capture intraday volatility during the London market session. It generates signals based on the interaction between price action and a dynamic channel.

  • Long Signals: Occur when the candle closes above the high-based moving average. For a signal to trigger, the RSI must also be above the overbought threshold (default 80), confirming strong bullish momentum.
  • Short Signals: Occur when the candle closes below the low-based moving average. The RSI must be below the oversold threshold (default 10) to confirm bearish momentum.
  • Session Timing: The script is programmed to only initiate trades during a specific time window (default 03:00–11:00). If a trade is still active when the session ends, the script automatically closes the position.
  • Risk Management: Users can define a maximum number of trades per day and a maximum daily loss percentage to prevent overtrading and capital depletion.

Details

The script constructs a "KISS" (Keep It Simple) system using two Simple Moving Averages (SMA) with a period of 5. One SMA is applied to the High prices, and the other is applied to the Low prices. This creates a price channel that acts as a volatility boundary.

Unlike traditional RSI usage where overbought/oversold levels suggest reversals, this strategy uses these levels as momentum filters. Closing above the channel while the RSI is high suggests a high-probability continuation of strength. The strategy also incorporates strategy.risk functions to enforce hard limits on intraday activity, ensuring the system adheres to a strict risk-to-equity model (default 2% max daily loss).

Settings

  • Length High/Low: Sets the lookback period for the SMA channel boundaries.
  • Source High/Low: Determines the price source (High/Low) for the channel calculation.
  • Offset High/Low: Allows the user to shift the channel plots horizontally on the chart.
  • RSI Length: Defines the period for the Relative Strength Index.
  • RSI OverSold/OverBought: Sets the momentum filter thresholds for entry confirmation.
  • Take Profit: Sets the profit target in price units/pips.
  • Stop Loss: Sets the maximum allowed loss per trade in price units/pips.
  • Max trades per day: Caps the total number of orders the strategy can execute within a 24-hour period.
  • Max risk per day (%): Defines the maximum percentage of equity the strategy is allowed to lose in a single day before halting.
