3 Series Cross Indicator with Alerts
Oct 11, 2022

The 3 Series Cross Indicator with Alerts indicator allows users to track and analyze the interaction between three customizable technical series to identify trend shifts and momentum. It provides a flexible framework for monitoring crossovers across multiple time-based calculations with integrated visual cues and alert functionality.
Usage
The tool is primarily used to identify trend alignment or "stacked" conditions where multiple moving averages or oscillators move into a specific hierarchical order.
- Trend Confirmation: When all three series are in a "climbing" state (Series 1 > Series 2 > Series 3), it indicates strong bullish momentum. Conversely, when all are "declining" (Series 1 < Series 2 < Series 3), it indicates strong bearish momentum.
- Crossover Identification: The script highlights points where any two series cross, which can serve as early signals for potential trend reversals or pullbacks.
- Visual Flags: Users can enable specific flags for individual pair crosses (e.g., S1 x S2) or a combined signal that triggers when a cross occurs while all series are aligned in a trend.
Details
The script supports several types of technical series, including standard moving averages and momentum oscillators:
- Moving Averages: SMA, EMA, RMA, WMA, and VWAP.
- Oscillators: RSI and Stochastic (STOCH).
By allowing oscillators like RSI to be treated as series, users can create hybrid crossing systems that mix price-based averages with momentum-based metrics. The "climbing" and "declining" logic is calculated by checking the relative position of all three selected series simultaneously.
Settings
- Source: The price data point used for calculations (e.g., Close, HLC3).
- Series 1-3:
- Length: The lookback period for the specific series.
- Type: The calculation method (SMA, EMA, RMA, WMA, VWAP, RSI, or STOCH).
- Color: Customizes the plot color for that specific series.
- Plot Flags?:
- S1xS2 / S1xS3 / S2xS3: Enables arrows on the chart when these specific pairs cross.
- 3Cs Combined: Enables triangle markers when any cross occurs while the "3 Series" are fully aligned in a climbing or declining state.
FAQ
How do I use different indicators for the series?
You can select the "Type" dropdown in the settings for Series 1, 2, or 3 and choose from options like EMA, RSI, or VWAP to mix and match different calculation methods.
What do the triangles at the top and bottom of the chart mean?
The upward green triangle at the bottom signifies a "3Cs Climbing" state, where all three series are aligned bullishly. The downward red triangle at the top signifies a "3Cs Declining" state, where all three series are aligned bearishly.
