The RSI Swing Signal indicator identifies high-probability reversal entries by combining Relative Strength Index exhaustion levels with specific engulfing candle and fractal patterns.

Usage

The RSI Swing Signal is primarily used as a counter-trend or consolidation tool to identify potential market reversals. Users can look for the following signals:

  • Long Entry: Occurs when the RSI is below the oversold level (default 20) and a specific bullish engulfing structure forms at a swing low.
  • Short Entry: Occurs when the RSI is above the overbought level (default 80) and a specific bearish engulfing structure forms at a swing high.

The indicator highlights two types of signals based on candle structures:

  1. Fractal Entry (Type 1): Identified by background highlights when an engulfing candle occurs following a fractal high/low.
  2. Swing Entry (Type 2): Identified when the engulfing candle itself creates the new swing high/low.

The RSI line changes color dynamically (Green for oversold, Red for overbought) to alert the trader to potential exhaustion zones before a signal triggers.

Details

This tool is based on the RSI Exhaustion strategy, which focuses on identifying price points where momentum is stretched and likely to snap back. It filters standard RSI overbought/oversold signals by requiring price action confirmation via engulfing candles at local extremes (swing highs or lows). By requiring price to confirm the RSI divergence or exhaustion, the tool aims to reduce "false positives" often associated with oscillator-based trading in trending markets.
