GCM Heikin Ashi RSI Trend Cloud
Jan 7, 2026

The GCM Heikin Ashi RSI Trend Cloud indicator is a comprehensive momentum oscillator designed to filter market noise and visualize trend strength by transforming Relative Strength Index (RSI) data into Heikin Ashi candles.
Usage
The indicator can be used to identify trend continuations, market reversals, and momentum shifts. Unlike standard RSI which can appear jagged, the Heikin Ashi transformation provides a smoother representation of momentum.
- Trend Continuation: Users can monitor the color of the HARSI candles. A transition from red to green, combined with a green Ribbon Cloud, suggests a bullish continuation.
- Divergence Analysis: Because the candles are derived from RSI, users can identify regular and hidden divergences between the HARSI peaks/valleys and the actual price action on the main chart.
- Dynamic Support/Resistance: The Ribbon Cloud, based on Higher Timeframe (HTF) RSI, serves as dynamic support or resistance. In strong trends, the main RSI line often reacts to or bounces off these clouds.
- Trend Bias Mode: This visual feature allows users to adjust the thickness of the RSI line based on market direction. In "Buyers Mode," the line thickens during rising RSI, while "Sellers Mode" thickens during falling RSI.
Details
The indicator calculates four distinct RSI values (Open, High, Low, and Close) which are then processed through the standard Heikin Ashi formula. This ensures that the candles represent the "price action" of momentum rather than underlying asset price.
To further reduce false signals, a smoothing algorithm is applied to the candle "Open" value, biasing it toward the previous average. The Ribbon Clouds are generated by comparing the current chart's RSI against automatically detected or manually selected Higher Timeframe RSI data.

FAQ
How do I interpret the HARSI candle colors?
Green candles indicate increasing bullish momentum, while red candles indicate increasing bearish momentum. When these align with the Ribbon Cloud color, it signifies a stronger trend.
What is the benefit of the HTF Cloud?
The HTF Cloud provides macro perspective on a lower timeframe chart, helping you stay aligned with the broader market trend and identifying where momentum might find support or resistance.
